To be fair the "name the social democrats that were elected" was clearly them imitating Carl "where's your source" Benjamin's pedantry, which he didn't seem to take too well.

I'm sure that they accepted him on their stream with the full intention of trolling him by imitating his "tactics", so in a way he was right: they weren't really interested in a good faith conversation. Of course the fact that they were using his tactics really shows how interested in good faith he is when it comes to his side of the argument.

It's even funnier when you think how often he complains about the double standards of those gosh darn essjaydubias.

To be fair to them he is woefully misinformed about American politics at the smaller scale. The "Justice Democrats" and "Democratic Socialists" did well in the primaries sure, but they did very poorly in the actual mid-term elections compared to Democrats who ran closer to the middle (for Democrats). At the same time, Republicans who embraced Trumpism tended to do better. These are interesting happenings that can be talked and bullshit about, but he actually had the results wrong. It came off to me as one of those people who know nothing about a sport but pretend to to fit in and nobody is buying it at all.

I'm not sure if I want this to get big. One one hand we get to see Sargon (and hopefully Mundanematt) try and fail to run a movement, on the other they are going to lose, hard, and as someone who likes videogames that's probably not good news.

Honestly, I don't want them to represent me and my games. I virtually never play AAA games anyway aside from planning on maybe getting the new Halo and maybe Cyberpunk when it comes out. I don't see Halo becoming socjus because I just don't know how it could happen in that game, and Cyberpunk will probably be fine based on the studio. Total War games are getting really social justice oriented, but they kinda started to suck well before then anyway. Socjus oriented games already aren't doing well. I don't want Carl to cock it up and interrupt the market performing as it is supposed to.
