He seriously is offering ZERO reason to pledge. He said Patrons will be ale to suggest videos and then went on to say people in the chat would be able to suggest videos during the 'event'. He did not say that these stream chat suggestions would be behind a paywall either. He said folks in the chat would be able to suggest videos. Brilliant business model, that.

@actually I don't think we have the data to do this, but I'd be super curious about whether Tevin restreaming makes Dave's streams more profitable for him.

If you can point out specific streams on specific days you want to compare, let me know and I can take a whack at it. I doubt very much that it changes anything, but it could be interesting to look at.

I would wager it contributed a handful of dollars when one could tape a quarter to their troll cheer. There has been more troll cheer activity when Tevin is restreaming than when he is not. I'd say this was due to Tevin's viewers hoping to have Tevin read and react to their D$P cheers. Granted, troll cheers in general are down after the recent rate hike.

The hot conspiracy theory is that Tevin and Phil are in cahoots and keep drama alive to keep the money coming in. When DSP shits on Tevin a bit too harshly, tevin gets a surge of donations. Tevin produces detractor memes that people cheer DSP with, and people try to goad DSP into saying stuff that will entertain tevin’s stream.

I like tevin’s other material, like when he DJs or whatever, and can take or leave the restreams but it’s clear that Tevin gets a bunch more viewers when he’s shitting on DSP.

There's a growing body of evidence to suggest that "psychopathic traits such as a lack of empathy and impulsive antisocial behaviour" are associated with an irregularity of "grey matter volumes in the prefrontal cortex," the part of the brain responsible for such functions as "planning complex cognitive behaviour, personality expression, decision making, and moderating social behavior".

I wrote in the "Can Phil Truly Redeem Himself" thread that personality disorders are now believed to change over time. So while it's not set in stone (and assuming Phil is truly a Sociopathic/Narcissist, which we will never be able to properly verify), there is a physiological side to his behaviour that will determine how long he remains like this.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to law. Phil says TIHYDPs and re-streams are "illegal". They are "stealing" from him. He claims he's unable to bring these thieves to justice because he's unable to afford the lawsuit he'd need to bring against them. Is he not confusing two different types of Law here? Surely if they were actual thieves, it would be a matter for the police, right?

This is correct. One typically doesn't use the word "illegal" for civil matters. That's used for criminal issues; if they were truly "illegal" he could just go to the police.

I mean, sometimes Copyright/Trademark issues are crimes themselves, but it's usually tied in an effort to defraud someone (making fake versions of something and trying to pass it off as the original is the most common example of this)

Even just since I last updated his patreon 3 hours ago, he lost another 5 patrons and $17 of support for December, that begging for patron''s choice playthough really backfired huh?

especially if the stream chat can vote too for free

phil is just throwing patreon away because he cant give them real perks and stuff
