RE: Kat & Phil: The Wedding Episode aka
I think we know DSP's flair for the creative and/or the dramatic has been dead on its ass for a while now. Much like last year's Savethahaus begathon, he's done very little at all to set up any real distincton between last year's emergency and this one. The carrot he dangled in front of everyone last year was bills bills bills with the caveat that if them billz weren't paid he wouldn't be able to move Kat in. That if he lost the house they'd be just another pair of star-crossed lovers doomed to be apart forever. Quite why exactly a house determined the fate of two people made for each other is beyond me.. and everyone else as well I'm sure. He must have been asked why a relationship hinged on a townhouse and refused to answer it right? Because it's pretty much impossible to answer because it's complete horseshit.
The Marriage is simply a lazy reworking of the relocation of Kat. She moved in and settled snugly into Leanna's room and she's probably slept there since. He bought her a whole new wardrobe minus one key garment: The Wedding Dress. If you want to level up the relationship you once again need to help DSP clear the bills bills bills and relocate her at last into the King of Hate's quarters. We'll ignore the fact he couldn't actually carry her over the threshold in the fancy Seattle hotel on wedding night without his back going out and the pair of them ending up on the floor concussed. In Kat's case at least it would be hard to tell the difference.
In short DSP probably doesn't want to marry her at all. Having her forced onto the Halloween stream to sit there in silence feeling uncomfortable suggests he may well be fucking sick of her.. trying to tip her over the edge into making a run for it - and all because she refuses to engage on camera in Dressage the way Leanna did. But she hung around so you have to make the best of a bad situation and use it to suck the shekels out of alotta peepul yet again. The entire relationship feels like DSP thought he could in actual fact replace a Panda with a Kat and mindfuck himself into not being able to tell the difference. The way he appears to view relationships in general (any kind of relationship honestly) is quite disgusting. Probably the best fit for him out of everyone in his life was John Rambo and even he quickly reached a point with Phil where DSP turned a friendship into an assumed entertainment partnership. I recall John talking about how making a trip to see DSP just became an assumed "we're gunna do co-op gamez now right?" situation with Phil. I think it took him at least a couple of hours to get to Phil's place and as soon as his shoes were off at the door Phil wanted the camera on.
DSP does not care much if at all about people and what they want out of life. DSP only cares about what Phil Burnell wants out of life.
My initial search was for the term 'retire' and I did actually go through every result on the 4 pages of 69 results, on this subsequent search for 'retired' I got almost the exact same entries as my initial search with 75 results this time and went through each result, and included 2 old speculations and 1 poster that referenced it that hasn't been quoted yet, these posts showed up in my initial search as well but I was only looking for posts explicitly stating that scenario as factual.
