Spending 200 bucks on a bag and helmet makes somebody exceptional to begin with.

Don't lower your standards. Capitalism breaks when consumers do that.

I haven't.

Fallout 4 was the LAST time I was willing to tolerate this shit.

If TES VI is even worse (and I'm waiting to find out before I buy), then Bethseda can fuck themselves, I will not give them my money.

And modding was one of the key reasons they sold their games since Morrowind, so I consider the fact players can mod the shit out of it a feature, not a minus, but given how they've even tried to fuck that up as much as they have, Fallout 4 was the last time I was willing to tolerate a mediocre product in exchange for being handed the mod tools anyway.

Apprantely they stealth-'patched' the game last night and the guns don't work anymore. You have to melee enemies now.

EDIT: This had been a bug all the way back to November and then some, but patch broke the guns fully.

This is just......how do you manage to fuck a game up THIS badly?

I mean, damn, they just broke the entire ranged combat system, something they never managed to entirely do in the previous games. Hell, Fallout 4 actually tried to make it a little less shitty in some ways, so how do you not just take a few steps back, but just fall backwards over a damn cliff?

I cant believe theres over a million people still playing this shit and making in-game purchases...

I'm not saying it's a minus, I am saying it's absolutely shameful to release an inferior product that needs to be fixed by fans before it can be enjoyed and anyone worth their salt as a gamedev should cry themselves to sleep over this kind of incompetence.

An active modding scene is something beautiful and it can create awesome games, hell, some of the most popular games of the past 15 years have started out as mods. Some mods are so big, they are more like an overhaul of the original game that turns them into something completely different.
A modding scene like that is a big advantage to any game...
However, Bethesda releases games with gamebreaking bugs and waits for modders to fix that shit. That's inacceptable and something completely different.

That is amazing.

Fair point, but I still contend Fallout 4 had the redeeming virtue that most of the suck could be modded out and with some work, the game could be enjoyable enough you at least didn't mind buying it while it was on sale.

Fallout 76 could be sold for a massive markdown or even made free and you could still feel ripped off.

I don't deny Fallout 4 was a harbinger of worse things to come, but compared to F76, I'm not ashamed to admit I bought Fallout 4 around launch and I still felt it was ultimately enough fun (albeit modded, but that's standard for Bethseda games) it was worth it in the long run.

At the same time, it was a dire enough warning I waited until I heard F76 was a confirmed MMO (or a bastardized parody of such) before I said "nope, fuck this, Fallout 4 was bad enough, not getting anywhere near this shit".

I've played a lot of Fallout 4, and I gotta say I've learned to stop worrying and love the bomb that is Fallout 4. You just gotta take it for what it is; a goofy, lighthearted romp thru the wasteland. And you have to like the settlement building mechanic, If you find it boring or tedious you're gonna have a bad time. And you gotta mod the shit out of it, but that's already been stated.

I also only payed $45 for the entire game. If I was one of these people who preordered the game for +$60 and bought the season pass for another +$60 and expected an experience on par with New Vegas, I'd be pissed as hell too.

Yeah, only the biggest haters shill out 200 dollars, so they can then whine about a miniscule detail. It's not like there was an ongoing, deliberate campaign of false advertisement going with Bethesda hoping noone would notice. It's not like this whole ordeal was just a big fucking mess that is one giant metaphore for how Bethesda has been running things for a decade now.
:story:
And the thing is, they would've gotten away with it if F76 was as good as Skyrim, or even Fallout 4. You know Bugthesda fucked up when even Camel "dynamic door lighting" Works and Mr. Matty "saying Fallout 4 is bad is disrespectful" Plays both say your game is shit!

I have to admit, this entire fiasco is way more entertaining than anything Bethesda has ever made

How the fuck is it possible for you to send support tickets to randoms instead of your own employees

I just, I can't...I don't even

If you give your money to Bethesda you're a lolcow, you brought this upon yourself.
Bethesda is so dedicated to the idea of letting the community fix their problems for them they're letting users run the support system :story:
