I think you're right. In most cases, I think he means Son, short for Sonichu, if Son is capitalized. There are instances where it's written as son, in which case it could go either way. It seems to be a more recent trend.

Unfortunately probably not, as Sonichu has famously referred to him as "father" when zapping to the extreme.
