I walked by some sociology class and they were talking about Incels as a militant male supremacist movement. Very odd times we live in.
I had to take a stupid health and wellness class this semester. One of the guest speakers briefly mentioned incels. His entire presentation was full of (((Egregious Content))).

God I hate what Google has done to Youtube, they're trying to make it the new TV when that's the exact opposite of why I liked youtube back about 13 years ago and why I use the internet.

In Hindsight, The Viacom Lawsuit was the beginning of the end of Youtube's best days.
Nah, I'd argue 2006 was the beginning of the end. The Viacom lawsuit only sped things up.

I thought that at first, but E;R also got strikes on his channel. This makes me think It's either YouTube being faggots or just great timing on Assburger's part.
If this was Assburger or his girlfriend's doing, then it really is convenient timing. But considering YouTube's pulled this shit before, I somehow doubt it unless AssHat or his GF talked them into it.

Fuck YouTube. They want to be television and have only old people and children watch inoffensive videos while drooling like re.tards. YouTube can go fuck itself. It will be in the red forever. YouTube will never be TV, it will have a handful of popular creators too big to remove and cat videos.

They're already going for the great purge. Now is the time for YouTubers to switch careers because Mumkeys shit wasn't offensive, just satire. If he can get banned randomly, anyone can. YouTube is for faggots and its soon going to be devoid of most creators. Run while you can.

I also think that the days of making YouTube or Twitch your career are coming to an end. The only way you make money on Twitch is being a whore because all their mods and staff are thirsty betas. YouTube gleefully purges popular creators for no reason because it is slowly reversing the adpocalypse by removing controversial creators.

As :optimistic: as this sounds, can we please get a YouTube competitor actually worth a damn soon?
The GAFA (Google, Amazon, Faceberg, Apple) have total control over the Internet. You can see everytime there's a new challenger to the status quo, it suddenly loses the ability to receive money from Paypal or Stripe.
I believe that Google might have used their power to stop the investors from throwing money at Vidme
. The sad thing is, these giants know that they can get away with that kind of behavior because they have the MSM and the tech websites on their side.

I like the guy but he seriously needs new material. Making 2 million videos about Elliot Rodger isn't healthy.
he retired from doing Elliot some time ago

pretty sure munkey going to get the channel back mostly because this is not the first time this happened, sucks this had happened seemly right after that whole AssBurger thing

This was YouTube’s doing. Mumkey still has his gaming channel, and he posted an update video explaining what happened and what he was going to do about it. This video was linked in the OP but I’ll put it here too anyway.

One of the videos that got a strike was a test upload that had no views on it because it was set to private.

The problem is as vidme showed breaking into the social media game is next to impossible when 2-3 companies run the show and the costs are high. Keep in mind this was also written in December 2017, before payment processors kicking off clients became the most common corporate censor tool of choice.

Any new competitor is either going to have to be funded with cryptocurrency and have a good host from the get-go or be at the mercy of payment processors, advertisers, and webhosts regarding which content is acceptable and how fast it's deleted. Just look at every "alt-tech" company that pops up, from Bitchute to Gab and you'll see what I mean, and that's on top of the major problem with tiny social media sites which is that they'll never gain critical mass.

Vidme was somewhat screwed from the get-go, in that it never existed in much of a capacity other than being a YouTube clone.
Dan Olsen made an alright video explaining why vidme was set to fail. I dislike his tone, and him trying to act like he's worthy of being a paid consultant, but he brings up good points on vidme never having features that made it attractive to people who could migrate from YouTube, other than a tip jar.

Underrated post. Very few people notice or talk about how any up and coming competitor to the Google/Apple/Amazon monopoly always mysteriously get banned from virtually every payment processor out there for vague TOS violations.

The other thing that's killed smaller sites besides payment processor cutoffs became common was ad problems. Internet companies can either make money via running ads, charging money for subscriptions/services, or selling products on the side. A lot of companies chose the advertisements on a free service business model, a model that really became the prevailing model when companies found out people prefer free products. YouTube and Twitter notably bled money for the longest time but since they were big companies they could sustain it for a while.

It's well known with social media sites like those two that it's a tough game to get into, especially if you offer nothing "new" to draw in early adopters and critical mass to make it one of the most used sites. It takes a lot of money to set up a service that's going to inevitably burn through hard disks and bandwidth and clones of other sites notably crash and burn.

One thing websites would do is run ads but they'd either have issues keeping mainstream ad networks or their payouts would be complete garbage. As adblocker usage increased, even mainstream website ad revenue dipped to the point where websites started to unsuccessfully beg users to pay to view their site, displayed notices saying to turn off that pesky adblock, or changed monetization models. However websites like Breitbart, Infowars, and more got nailed by another issue that popped up after Trump won: activism groups (specifically Sleeping Giants) started copying GamerGate's Operation Disrespectful Nod campaign by emailing advertisers of Fox News, Breitbart, Infowars, and more right leaning sites to get ad revenue cut off and they somehow had a lot more influence and effectiveness than a bunch of channers on the internet.

Initially the person behind this campaign was anonymous and there's a reason for that. About a year or so after this started it turns out the guy who founded Sleeping Giants was actually inside the advertising industry as an ad copywriter which makes one question how astroturfed these campaigns to get ads off these sites were. Despite their efforts and just like what happened with Operation Disrespectful Nod, those sites are still up to this day as even the hardest hit site of the sites targeted has just adapted their business model.

My ethics teacher once gave a 10 minute speech about how gender was completely culturally produced and has nothing to do with biology.

He won't move to Twitch and if he does he's very stupid.
To boot, he never saved his videos, did he? If he did, so be it, great, he's not a neanderthal. But there's nothing he said that implies such a thing. Even further, why the hell did he not think this was gonna happen? He had a bunch of personal warnings after that girl showed his incel satire as a presentation. Yeah, he didn't deserve what she probably brought in, negative attention, but he should expect it, how retarded (tard word) this world can be. Emplemon's latest video addresses the power YouTube actually has, it's quite scary.
