dxfan619 has all the hallmarks of one of those "reviewers" I ordinarily wouldn't stand, but I actually like him.
That was the R2 video. Here's the R1 video.

To be fair, Code Geass was never good (and this is keeping in mind the first season is considered the series at its best.), no matter how much you try to dress it up.

All right I got a real good one for you here;

This whiny little fuck decided to do a Let'sPlay with adult/hentai games. Much to his surprise Youtube doesn't allow you to upload porn so he's got one helluva hateboner for them.
His voice is fucking unbearable. You can actually look at his comments and it gets brought up quite a bit.
Fair warning; some of it is hentai but a lot of it is furry and MLP so best get yo eye bleach ready.

Instant avoid watching anything on ever. Understood perfectly.

I know this is about AVGN copies but I just want to show some appreciation for James. He's been killing it with his AVGN series because he does take his time and honestly I gotta say it's up there with his older stuff in terms of humor and quality. I actually like his rental reviews. It's like hanging with some friends
, having some brews and just talking about shit.

Edit: the thing with these angry reviewers is they thought that's all they needed. James had his originals (personally liked his Wizard of Oz) YKWBS, monster madness, Board James, Music Reviews, book reviews, James and Mike Monday, and now rental reviews.
I hope he does more videos like he did with Lloyd Koffman. Maybe with Bruce Campbell while reviewing the Evil Dead games

I saw his Resident Evil Survivor review recently and I was blown away by how funny it was. I don't think James ever really played much of the series, especially since he grew up playing the NES, but he did his research well and managed to produce a funny video at that. I like that he's branching out to late 90s games as well, and he isn't half-assing it either.

That was my favorite recent one. I love how he incorporated himself into the RE intro scene.

I personally think Code Geass is fun, but I acknowledge that its writing is pants-on-head exceptional.

I thought his Town With No Name review was a bit disappointing. That's something I've noticed with James; with Hong Kong 97 being the big exception to the rule, his reviews of horrendously awful games like Crazybus and TWNN are disappointing and not as funny as they could have been.

I remember James used to run a series of guessing the songs of certain bands with Mike, which was pretty fun. Here's the Metallica one:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jon's review is better. I also doubt it will be better than Mac's Red Letter Media appearance.

Edit: I finished the video and didn't laugh once. Mac was his usual charming self but it just wasn't funny. Also, they shit on the Genesis Home Alone 2 for some reason. That one's actually good even if it has a couple of frustrating moments.

I absolutely hate it when James does skits; they are unbearable.

He's been doing a lot of reviews lately that many other reviewers did before and better, like Drake of the 99 Dragons and The Town with No Name.

He's a C+ reviewer at best; he doesn't go in depth and I guess only the people who find forced freak outs really still love him.

I personally like his reviews the best when he does go in depth documentary style, like the Gameboy accessories or Tiger games videos.

Huh, the Sega Genesis game based on the first Home Alone game actually looks halfway decent because of the rudimentary crafting system mentioned in the AVGN video, which was pretty ahead of its time for a 16-bit game aimed at children, even if Kevin is protecting the whole neighbourhood from the Wet Bandits instead of just one single house like in the movie.

Some of the music is pure ear rape (and I like plenty of Yamaha YM2612 chip-based tunes on the Sega Genesis, just not these ones) but otherwise it looks to be about as good a game as you can reasonably expect from a "family" movie license game from the 16-bit era.

I got that game for Christmas in 1991. It's one of the three Genesis games I still own.

You didn't like the dig at AVGN Adventures?
