Fuck ton of money in mid December and now he's getting ill.

Yeah but he lost his MCN his year so even if rates went up, his overall rates/payout can still be significantly down.

For someone who tells us he doesn't know how he is going to pay his bills in a couple of weeks he sure doesn't seem like he is doing anything extra to make sure he doesn't overdraw again, assuming of course that what he is saying is true in regards to his bills

I also get the feeling he's not being completely honest. This is the last minute of his holiday marathon stream:
Does that sound like someone who's losing his voice? I mean, he's mentioning it and he's rubbing his nose like a child does when acting like it's sick, but I don't hear it. It's a bit more raspy than usual at most, but that's about it.
Funny thing is, he had been mentiong losing his voice DAYS before doing the holiday stream, according to him because he had been streaming for nine days straight:

And today he suddenly has a cold:

Note how he doesn't mention a single time he's coming down with a cold or the flu or something - it's always because his voice is shot from talking too much, which is a recurring event for DSP since he started focusing on streaming. Only today he mentions him having cold symptons. Really odd...
Also note how the first mention of his voice is December 16th, so even IF it were due to a cold, it means he had been coming down with a cold for over a week. That would've been quite abnormal in it's own right. But again: he hasn't even hinted at having cold symptons, even though he made like eight tweets about his throat/voice in within a couple of days.

-edit- I'd swear I've seen posts with the thumbnails being next to each other instead of stacked upon each other. If anyone knows how to do that, please let me know. *sigh*

I'm going to pin this on the "Phil is smart and can plan ahead when it comes to lying and getting himself out of work" theory. We know Phil lays groundwork for future lies. This to me smacks of him packing himself a parachute; for whatever reason he wanted to open a door to be able to skip streams (and I think it's noteworthy that the streams he's skipping are the ones where he'd be "answering a lot of questions"). Whether it's laziness or frustration over not getting big bux on Day Two or whatever the motivation, he wanted to leave himself an out.

Added benefit that now he can play another pity card even while he sits off stream, talking about how sick he is and how he's missing out on revenue on account of it. This might be a new low for him, moving straight into the neighborhood of GoFundMe malingerers who don't even bother to beg outside the occasional tweet or Tumblr post.

Every kid knows you can't spring an illness out of nowhere, you gotta set it up (preferably even skipping something you kind of wanted to do on a prior day) in order to give credit to your claims when you cash in.

That'd be irreparable damage to his "I'm the hardest working motherfucker on the internet/all I wanna do is play games and have fun" narrative, though.

(Has it been mentioned that he jumps between those two without any notice that they contradict one another? Phil could work for Minitrue for as good as he is at doublethink.)

I would say he's faking an illness so he can have a staycation in Seattle without telling anybody, but that creeper pic he took seems to indicate he's sitting at home doing fuck all, and since he has no life all he can think to do is stalk Kat. And to be fair, what could seem just like a sore throat can turn out to be a cold a couple days later; that happened to me earlier this month. Considering his line of "work" there's no way he should be missing any time off because of this. He could drink some hot tea instead of energy drinks and take some cough drops while playing games and be perfectly fine for the day.

That being said, he's going to exploit this mild illness that everybody gets and turn it into some major emergency that's cost him THOUSANDS of dollars, which he really needs to save the house or see his dying parents (when's the last time he even mentioned them without being asked?) or whatever the fuck.

Now if he is sick we better hear his voice sound sick and nasally (more than usual) during the second stream, especially since he has stated he couldnt breathe last night meaning that his nose was clogged. Otherwise, I wouldnt be surprised he drank too much on xmas and has a bad hangover. Also I am hoping he mentions something about going out with Kat to that "authentic Italian" restaurant for xmas eve, since that "fan" mentioned seeing him in that restaurant. If he admits to that then that means he was bullshiting about staying home all day due to his "illness" which just adds more to his lies.
 
I just want to remind everyone that even fucking WingsOfRedemption, a person who actually once stated, “ban any variation of laughter,” was able to admit that the only reason he’s staying afloat and isn’t in dire straits is because of his detractors. He admitted that they were drawing an audience and actually drawing an audience that would stay and watch, and now he’s looking into finding ways to convert them.

Wings is an OG CoD commentator who hit pretty big success for a while, and has fought his detractors tooth and fucking nail for years now. He has never really had a favorable opinion about trolls and it’s like a light went on in his head. Even WingsOfFuckingRedemption realizes he could cash in if he just worked with the trolls instead of against them.

Will Phil ever reach these levels of understanding? I wanna say I doubt it. At the very least Wings is a pretty social person and can actually be a likeable person sometimes. Phil is a miserable fucking sourpuss who has zero sense of humor. Jordie can at least admit he’s fat and lazy. Phil attributes it to illnesses and shit, and I don’t know about you guys, but if I have a mild cold I can’t afford to take work off for it. It just cannot happen. Unless I’m sick with something contagious, I HAVE to be there. Phil has obviously found a supreme enabler in Kat, someone who is only interested in money and gives him helpful hints on how to make more (make your birthday stream last a week).

I genuinely don’t see Phil ever snapping out of it. Even when this whole thing falls apart we will still see him posting videos to his YouTube ghost town, yelling into the void blaming detractors that aren’t even watching anymore. He’s the type of person who will sell semen and plasma 7 days a week just to avoid doing any real work.
