How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Bob thinks Vegeta is "evil, but I get it" but he thinks 100% of Trump voters are irredeemably evil, they need to be removed from society by force, and in the meantime shouldn't even be spoken to.
Bob remains a mental midget and emotional infant.
Reminder that this is a man child who is mentally and emotionally stuck in the late-80s early-90s. He still hasn’t and will never grow up.

I know I've said this before but it bears repeating.

Leftists have this weird idea that if you grant hate-speech the right to exist, it'll spread and 'infect' others. The problem is that if you try to suppress hate speech, it just makes the problem worse.

The Weimar Republic prosecuted over 200 charges of 'hate speech' against the NSDAP (the ACTUAL Nazi party) prior to their taking power. Hitler was actually banned from speaking in Bavaria.

For some reason I think Bob would be just fine with summary execution for people espousing wrongthink. He's just too much of a pussy to state it.

Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy were trying to present themselves as more clever than they really were. They share that hubris with Bob, who believes that subverting an existing work makes the act intelligent. Bob's problem is that his knowledge of comparative mythology is incredibly feeble. From what I understand, he disdains popular archetypes and the hero's journey because he sees them as tired cliches without understanding why they have endured for centuries. Joseph Campbell--whose work inspired George Lucas when he was writing the the original Star Wars--was himself inspired like Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung who sought to better understand the human condition.

Bob (incorrectly) assumes that he understands the human condition in its entirety because chose the "winning" ideology. He assumes that he knows how myth and archetypes work as such and can deconstruct/subvert them, but lacks the tools to reconstruct them. Neither Bob, nor his contemporaries can abide by the notion that they have anything to learn since they already "know" everything. They lack the curiosity and drive to examine the various pieces they dissect beyond of the woefully narrow lens of identity politics. Imagine that Bob is disassembling a car, the frame may be the same but all the pieces would be in the wrong places. Even the frame itself would be warped in some places because he attempted to force a piece into a place where it did not fit.

Given his skewed perceptions, it does not matter that the Resistance were so inept that a bunch of bumbling Empire cosplayers wiped them out in the span of two hours. What Bob really wants is to take something scared to a group he despises, smash its icons, and pervert it out of spite so he can lord his perceived intellectual "superiority" over them. He could not give less of a damn about Star Wars or Marvel. If I had to speculate, I would theorize that this attitude stems from his experience with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Bob spent the majority of his childhood in the eighties and thus took the unofficial backstory that Mario and Luigi were plumbers from Brooklyn as scripture. Yoshi's Island sees release in 1995 and establishes that the Mario Bros. were--in fact--always denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. Nintendo effectively took a sledgehammer to his beloved icon and committed the ultimate act of heresy.

(That would probably be one of the chief reasons why Bob hates the nineties outside of Sega, and later Sony, breaking Nintendo's hegemonic hold on the industry.)

Since Nintendo will not give Bob "his" Mario back, he will join with the SJWs in their hostile takeover of popular culture. His embrace of social justice is little more than a flimsy raison d'être to take from others what Nintendo took from him.
It reminds me of Bob's reaction to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Here we have a film that subverts expectations (key phrase here) in the sense that over the course of the film, it shows the conflict that it sets up to be much less clear-cut than it initially appears, and challenges the audiences' sympathies with a premise that has been done before (lone person takes a stand against an unjust system) and where it would be very easy to root for the protagonist and paint her as unquestionably heroic. However, it treats all its principle players with sympathy no matter how repulsive they may seem and shows them to all have legitimate competing interests, thus forcing the audience to think about who's in the right. Now because Bob's ideology dictates that these people are irredeemably awful based on their skin-color and geographic location, and the movie subverted his simplistic Manichean worldview, he has a strong negative reaction to it. It's nothing like Star Wars or Marvel, which paint in broad strokes, feature exaggerated worlds and characters, and deal in black-and-white morality: this is a movie that deals with real people in the real world and complicated moral issues (albeit through a darkly comedic lens), all of which Bob either doesn't understand or simply doesn't care about. To him, subverting an established work is good and intelligent, but subverting and challenging his ideas on morality and how the world works is haram.

I assume that Bob's love for Vegeta stems from his position as an "elite", aggressive approach to things he dislikes and strong belief in his own superiority.
He's basically what you'd get if you gave ol' Bobby superpowers, but devoid of comedy redeeming aspects to his personality.

He'd love Zamasu even more.

That's why I like to see more movies like that. People like Bob have to learn that their ideas of morality and their worldview have to been challenged and questioned because it is all flawed.

As a fan of Dragon Ball Z, my favorite anime, Bob clearly misses the point about Vegeta. His entire arc is him being a raging asshole who wants to surpass Goku.

I know I'm super :late: because I had to catch up on the thread but (with @ωσкє вℓυє мυѕℓιм qυєєη already providing some details (fuck mate, your unicode in nickname makes it super hard to @ you)) but if you like weird, moody and hypnotic horror movies I would recommend Mandy highly. It's that kind of movie that shifts gears in the middle from oppressive gut wrenching thriller to off the wall murder schlock.

Not really being fan of modern horror movies it was really refreshing. But as with any slowly paced movies, it's acquired taste.

Admittedly it's been over a decade since I read Dragonball, but I don't recall Vegeta ever being presented as an anti-hero. I remember him being a straight up villain. A rude, egotistical and arrogant asshole who only cares about himself and becoming stronger.

He abandoned Trunks, his son, to pursue more power and he never once shows any remorse or regret over that. Doesn't Trunks confront him about that and tries to see the good in him before concluding that there is none and that he is irredeemably evil?

His change to true anti hero started during the cell games when cell killed trunks and was cemented when he sacrificed himself to try to kill buu.

Off-topic, but where has @Sexy Times Hitler been? One of the reasons why this thread has been a little bit calmer lately is because he hasn't been posting screenshots of Bob's tweets for us to pick apart.
I assumed he just gave up, because really, who would want to subject themselves to Bob's unending vomit of resentment, smugness, and bitterness day after day?

He got bored of the thread and got too busy to keep screencapping Bob's drivel. A lot of the oldfags have moved on. I myself don't post here nearly as much as I used to.

Guess it's time to clear the air.

It was honestly a mix of being too busy irl, me getting genuinely tired of seeing his tweets every day and people getting way too angry at him here. There's only so much you can say about him at this point that hasn't already been said.

To be fair, it's very hard not to a-log a fatso who does nothing but post faux-intellectual pretentious tweets every two seconds of the day

But at the same time, people are treating a guy who lives in a drafty basement and can't make mac-and-cheese like he's on par with pedos and zoosadists.

There's always been A-logging to a certain extent in this thread, but it's gotten really out of control recently. People need to remember Bob is a basement dweller with no political power whatsoever. That's why he's funny - he's a nobody with fascist delusions. If he was actually successful, or had the prospect of being successful in putting them into practice, he wouldn't have a thread here, at least not a lolcow one. Saying he's worse than someone like Roy Moore who actually came frighteningly close to being in a position to shape national policy is fucking ridiculous.

It also seems like people are now more interested in discussing films and TV than actually discussing Bob himself. The Dragon Ball Z sperging on the last page is just the latest proof of that.

I think to some extent we have to discuss film and TV when it relates to Bob. One of the things that makes him a cow is his terrible grasp on media. When Bob puts out a terrible tweet or video analyzing some piece of media, why shouldn't we discuss why he's wrong or what he's missing in his analysis of said media?

That's fine from time to time, but Bob missing the point of why your favourite film or TV show is great isn't really the primary thing that makes him a cow and recently it feels like that's what's been dominating discussion. Deep analysis of that kind of thing is more suited to multimedia than a lolcow thread.

I only watched one episode of the game over thinker or whatever and it was some of the most dumb spergyness I have ever seen. I think it was him in various outfits entering the cap n-world to fight gamergaters or whatever?

The fact that people could find the fortitude to watch his other reviews honestly shocks me.

Edit: this video

It's seriously one of the saddest and funniest things I have ever seen an adult man produce
