I’m going to bet Jake is talking about the game his cousin Jono, who has actual skills, tried to help him with. I believe it was a video game version of his Masses board game. He sent the work his cousin did to try and impress Quinn who ofc only cared about narrative games, because that’s what she was always attempting to make. Quinn wasn’t impressed because she thinks games should be narcissistic explorations of her psyche. Jake was crushed, he thought showing her Jono’s work would def land him that sweet non-existent job at Zoe Quinn Inc.

Jake would totally take credit for any actual code work his cousin did for him on that game. His cousin did 99.999% of the work until he realized Jake was never going to learn or do jack shit but give orders to Jono (who has a real job). Jono was only helping as a way to try and encourage Jake to get off his ass to learn a skill but he soon realized it was a fools errand.

Jake is too lazy to learn any actual skills. He actually believes he’s a brilliant “idea” guy who needs to be barking orders at others to make his amazing ideas happen.
