I’m still stunned about the “Hello world” thing. If it isn’t just Jake’s regular overblowing of how pathetic he is to gain pity points (which I suspect it is), how can someone be that incompetent? Is that how Jake views women? “Tee hee, I’m a silly girl who hates science and math because they overheat my inferior female brain, something a literal 5-year old can do is too taxing tee hee”.

This is an ongoing theme with Jake. Anything slightly difficult that he doesn't automatically succeed in makes him really, really upset. That's pretty common with kids whose parents constantly told them how smart they were. You can imagine his mother telling him he was specially talented and intelligent, and his life now is the result.
