How long can you feel cool with the kids, Dave? How many real working adults can you scam without them noticing? How long do you think the concept of videogame lifestreams is relevant and interesting? What do you do when entire generations surpass you by going with the current time, while you insist your neanderthalian approach from 50 years ago is the real deal (which will be comparable to favoring black and white TV and static noises)? Is this the time when you will finally use a greenscreen?
Go with the times or get fucked, you fossil.

Well, he's only now (at least claimed) he understands he can play whatever he wants and not the newest releases. Having said that, writing a list of new releases and asking the chat if they'll be interested is him doing the same old same old with a false sense of "community engagement."

The reason he is able to play any game he wants and does not have to rely on new releases is because the same 300 people show up to every stream regardless of what he is playing. Sometimes on a day one release he will get a few hundred more people to show up. Only a handful are giving him money but they give him enough that he can make a couple hundred a day.

Remember when Leanna left and Phil spun it to be a good thing? He could make his own schedule and was free to do whatever he wanted. He was happy Leanna left. She was holding him back.

Now he consistantly gets about 300 views no matter what. That's a good thing. He's free to play whatever game he wants. He doesn't have to worry about views or what is popular. He's happy he has a small viewership. It's a positive thing.

This is true. Even if Phil gets his magical refinance and somehow unloads the condo in Connecticut, he’s going to need to continue his broadcasts for the rest of his life. And the longer he continues down this path the harder it will be for him to return to real world when it all comes crashing down.
Most people like to talk about the day Phil can't stream anymore as some grand moment of karma, but what is never talked about is the idea Phil outlasts streaming. The bubble already burst on YouTube videos the idea the same would happen with streaming isn't a matter of if then when. After he can't put up videos for big money anymore and can't play games live for big money anymore what the hell does he do besides proclaim it was impossible to see coming and there is nothing he could do?

I'm really confused about his attitude towards his non existent future plans. All it contains is the hope his 300 viewers will hold his hand until the rest of his life.
By his own words, he's not interested in growth, he just wants to relax and play a game, while he hopes (instead of working towards) everything will work out for the best. He has to beg the same people for the rest of his life, instead of getting automatically a lot of money due to a huge audience. Really, he prefers to beg forever, instead of jumping just once over his own shadow.
Being lazy is more important to him than actual having success. His own echo chamber is way more important than his petty ego. I fail to see any reason to support such a person, it's just gross, I have zero respect for that.

He could have thousand viewers and a lot of subs, no worries about taxes and his house. But he's an afraid piglet. Afraid of words. What a sad existence.

Ah, thank you kindly. I have had Tevin on the mind recently. He is close to flipping over into the Dark Syde. I really enjoy him; he's funny, appealing, easy on the eye, and I just like the guy. I really hope he keeps some balance & doesn't end up with his own board.

watch him become a lolcow, hahaha

so, phils in the mindset of its none of our business how much hes made. but when someone asks its constantly "need money for mah taxes still" if thats always the answer, can we expect to hear him talking about selling the house soon?

has he ever even mentioned going bankrupt?

"""Podcasts"""?

I'm serious - the only things Phil is any good at are talking about himself and begging. If one blessed day Twitch does give him the boot (a day I'm anticipating not because I want to watch a man starve but because the salty scrambling he'll make public will be delicious) we might actually see the first pure internet panhandler: someone who does literally nothing but use the internet to come into peoples' homes, unbidden, with no true reason for needing it, and asking for money. No entertainment provided in exchange, no sob story, nothing. Just Phil, eight hours a day (with a two-hour break, of course), every day, asking the same 300 people for moar munny.

DSP is the next shoenice.

Tevin himself said he only restreams Phil as much as he does now because his Twitch was banned. I remember him saying something along the lines of if his Twitch wasn't banned he'd just be playing games and maybe listening to Phil in the background every now and then as opposed to restreaming Phil so much. Maybe there's more to it because Tev def seems more heated often than not at Phil in recent restreams, but I know part of it is probably the Twitch thing if what Tevin said is anything to go by.

Probably a little extra heat because Phil has referred to him as a criminal since the whole poisoning accusation. If I had been falsely accused for attempted murder, I'd be a little heated about some fat tub of shit referencing it too.

It's funny, in a way, because "got caught trying to kill someone over some petty bullshit by poisoning their soda" is something you'd almost expect to happen to DSP, without the whole "didn't actually happen" thing.

But then, he'd have to exist in the real world for more than a few hours at a time, so. No chance of that arc. :heart-empty:

The key to being caught up in the D$P vortex is to not get upset about anything that happens to him. So what if some autistic whale throws cash at him, so what if he goes on a rant other streamers like Ninja or he begs for money. The best way to get past it is just to laugh and point out his mistakes and bullshit. Time and time again he has shot himself in the gout foot and it will happen again. Twitch will have a culling of problem streamers or he will just do something exceptional.

Tevin, Bhil Purnell, and TXT all got banned from Twitch at the same time. The only thing Tevin did on Twitch was stream games and music, so given the evidence it's safe to assume Phil or someone in Phil's circle got them banned for DSP related things off the Twitch platform.

Tevin seems upset too that he had been trying to get partnered and Twitch pretty much ignored him for months. Meanwhile, white girls with their tits out got partnered in a matter of days despite having less views, subs, and time than Tevin.

Thank you so much. Who is TXT? Are the people suspected of doing that still active in the cult? Are is there no useful way of determining who might have been involved?

TXT aka TheyCallMeTXT, formerly DSP.TXT

Friend of BhilPurnell, now streams on stream.me. Interviewed BSV, when he was a DSP mod, and kept asking him about why his bed was so small. Has 2,500 Twitter followers because of Phil but mainly uses the account to tweet about politics, gamergate and his girlfriend.

Even if he does this for the rest of his life, it won't stay the way forever. Fans change, detractors change, the whole internet changes, Phil stays the same - except he ages. Now he might be:
The clown who is out of touch with reality and fapped on stream.
But some day, for a new generation, he will be:
The irrelevant, boring, really old fat sack, who is out of touch with reality, yells at clouds and banned the whole internet during his lifetime.

Can you imagine sitting alone in a small room, alternately shouting and waving your arms around and sitting still, slumped in a corner? All alone, for all your waking hours. For ten years. Then imagine it going on longer. He would continue even if the electric was shut off and the internet down. Forever. I am 100% positive that is how you get angry ghosts and poltergeists and shit.

EXACTAMUNDO. Over and over, he makes these videos and his literal business plan is to say I hope & make that stupid up-ward sloping gesture he always fucking does. And somehow, his little cadre of weenies make his queasy, snotty dreams come true. It's like he has a fuckimg djinn locked in his garage like some kind of cheese dream of Joseph Fritzl.

edit@ @JackDavis thanks!

I want to know how Phil would react to a whale giving him what amounts to an allowance.

I'll explain.

Someone contacts Phil. They have a large sum in escrow prepared to forward to his PayPal, with the following stipulations:

a) he must play a game of their choosing to completion, on the hardest difficulty setting, with no breaks, meaning he can't switch to another game at any point. He can keep his ridiculous clock-in/clock-out schedule but every stream has to be dedicated solely to that game until he's finished it.

b) there will be set amounts deducted for various "bad behaviors". Chat handholding, abusing his viewers, belching/snorting/bottle crushing, excessive complaining, will all cause the whale to deduct from the final reward.

The idea here is to test how strong Phil's greed is in reference to improving the quality of his stream, and to what extent. Every incentive has been dangled in front of his face except guaranteed cash. How much of a whore would Phil make himself to be for a big payday?

He would never believe it was real. It would be an interesting experiment tho.

Jesus christ the tax talk though, he does not realise it pushes whales away though as they get bored of it.

D$P's whales don't get bored. They leave when D$P ticks them off for one reason or another. Some stay gone, others return to throw more cash at him ( see Grazydream now known as goldry_bluscoe who is back on the leaderboard)

I may have missed something. Apologies. Is consensus developing that Tevin is A-logging? He's pretty damned mad these days.

Apologies if I am missing a big thread or something. If I am, can I get a link? I have been off busy being mentally defective & missed a few weeks of Farming.

A couple thousand in tips and 500 or so gifted subs. He's already shown this with streaming SFV at Tut's suggestion and continuing to stream it while saying things such as 'I wonder if Tut will make it to the stream?'

Phil did also publicly threaten him on stream, too (albeit implicitly). Who knows if any of DSP's sped fans (looking at you, pony fucker Keith) tried to faildox him or put their nose in his IRL business as a result.

At least tevin jokes about it and doesn’t ban jokes about it. If DSP had a similar situation, he’d be clearing chat more than he’d be playing a game. I guess it’s all about intent, which some people can’t grasp. There’s no friendly banter, just trolling.

I don't know where to stick this. Ahem.

The other night I copied Phil's flailing arm movements and jabbing and swaying and shit. Like literally sat and mirrored his movements. It was all of maybe 15 seconds before my back and arms hurt enough for me to stop caring. He just sits there and sort of rotates in eldritch geometries in jittering twitches. I am sure his fucking back does hurt.

Edit: @Raven'sChild thanks

It'd take some groundwork-laying to get him on the hook but I think it could happen. There'd need to be some lesser money seeded first, I think.

"Im gonna need at least 3-4K more"

"I made more money in 2018 so I'm gonna owe more in taxes"

Which means

"You idiots paid me too much, now make up for that by paying me even more than last year so I can cover the taxes"

Do they not understand how this works? He's just trying to inflate his income year-over-year by shoving his tax liability onto his fanbase. However much he gets, he'll need even more come the following January.

I'm not sure whether to be angry because it seems to be working or to pity that there are people that foolish with an internet connection. Phil is more transparent than any Nigerian prince.
