Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

So what did they do to Saru aka the only character worth caring about?
He was just there really. At one point he got to Captain the ship proper by navigating it through an asteroid field to get it closer to the pickup point Michael, Pike and random redshit woman (+the people they were rescuing) were at, so that was something for him. Told Michael about having a sister, but I wasn't really paying too much attention to that. Was perfectly fine with letting Pike take full control of the ship at the end of the episode (not temporarily, like at first), which makes Rich's assessment that his species is pathetic pretty accurate. I remember Riker bitching to no end over Jellico being Captain, but oh well, different personalities. That was about it.

Actually there was that one comedy scene where his head-ganglions or whatever went into panic mode when they were in that asteroid field (it was a dangerous mission) and he sort of quipped to a guy on the bridge noticing that "well, what did you expect".

I saw Star Trek Voyager: Tuvix episode I liked the dilemma the crew had to go through when dealing with Tuvix, the guy really didn't want to die but knew the two people merged within him wanted to come back. Though the ending kinda ended with a whimper when things began to go sideways when he tried to object but instantly went through the process of being separated. Still not as weird as that one episode where Captain Janeway and some other guy became slugs and had babies.

Voyager is where the franchise really started going off the rails. I liked it as a kid, and there's a lot of great stuff about it, but the writing was on the wall at that point.

Told Michael about having a sister
That was so weird. They've worked with each other for more than 4 or 5 years and it's the first time that she asked about Saru's personal life. Worse, he says that he can't see his sister again and Burnham says "I know that feel". How would she know? She has no sibling and Spock isn't her brother.

My Grandma always start talking to the bird outside when she is realy stressed and alone. Michael has an even less healthy brain than my demented grandma and alot of stress, maybe thats why she started to talk to cattle.

Tuvix is a legit episode with poor casting choices, the reptile babies is probably star treks biggest mistake.

I didn't hate the new Discovery as much as I thought, but I was sad that Mansplainer died so quickly. I knew it was going to happen, but I enjoyed the sass he gave Burnham and was infuriated that he was saying all the same shit she does all the time but we're supposed to hate him for it. Seriously, they could have given the exact same lines to her and it would be played as some epic pwnage.

I'm watching TNG for the first time and just got to the episodes with these 2 clips.
Its been a really fun ride so far.
I love the Royale and honestly never get tired of this silly episode.

I have a couple of friends who are watching early season TNG for the first time and are sticking with it. I'm proud.

My boyfriend and I are rewatching some Enterprise. I think he's trying to determine if Discovery is worse. He's on the fence right now.

The Royale ep was very underrated, but I always felt like it wasn't really Trek.

RikerDad was just bad.
Royale reminds me of the theme planet episodes of TOS, like Roman Planet and Mobster Planet. I always liked that one.

There's a video that dubs the American Gladiators music over Ambojitsu.

They have established that she was a raging cunt to Saru until fairly recently so that seems in character.

It's telling when Voyager probably peaked with the year of hell arc, and the writers hated it so much they went on to redo it as Battlestar Galactica.
