Oh man Drew "McWeeny", he'd almost be an LOLCOW except for how boring he is. Formerly a contributor to Ain't It Cool News where he used to front about having deep insider knowledge of the screen trade, he was also a friend of the greasy and pre-MeToo MeToo'd "film critic" Devin Faraci and is one of those sad middle-aged nerds who spends several hours a day on Twitter furiously retweeting virtue signaling snark and enraged "progressive" talking points. He's a former screenwriter and a member of a significant demographic within the SJWs: one of those increasingly angry middle-aged "professional" dorks in the fields of lit, comics, video games, etc. who appear to be angry because on some level they realize they are coming to the end of their periods of, ahem, creative production.

I'd say it differently but honestly, I'd just be repeating what you said. I recommend picking up Sowell's The Vision of the Anointed. Specifically, the bits about the 'constrained' versus the 'unconstrained' vision.

Suffice to say, there are two schools of thought: one that believes humanity can be somehow made 'perfect' and that any price to pay for this is fine. The other believes humanity, for better or worse, is flawed, so it is better to establish systems which can limit the damage such flaws can do.

Three guesses where Mr. Chipman lands.

He's not backing down. KiA's been dunking on him pretty mercilessly for it. The initial version of events supported his opinion, so he ignores any subsequent developments.

Bob might cringe and lick the palms of lefties who come after him, but he will never, ever, ever apologize to the right in general and Trumpies in particular.

It's ironic that someone who likes to talk about "evolution" and "intelligence" and the "superior future" displays the most naked, dim-witted, primitive, atavistic instinctual blind idiot ape tribalism from the dark recesses of humanity's evolutionary past. It's what makes authoritarians like Bob literal subhumans. If evolution could really go in reverse like Bob thinks is the origin of conservatives, I'd be checking Bob and his tribe for monkey tails.
