Artcow Michael John Kricfalusi / John Kricfalusi / John K. / John K. Stuff / Raymond Spum - scammer animator who pissed away his own career, salty blogger, CONFIRMED predator and child rapist

I remember when "Ren & Stimpy" was on MTV, and then found out it started on NICKELODEON! HOW did it get there?

That its originator was more than a little weird sexually makes total sense; some aspects of that show were funny, but some of it was just plain old offensive.

Kids loved it.

Can attest to this, was a child when it came out, fucking loved it.

Same. But the really odd things was, it was on the Evangelical Broadcasting (EO) channel here. That is where I would watch it with mom during the original run. It may have made sense if it were a catholic channel, but no, it is a protestant one through and through.

I still think the bit with The Great Wilbur Cobb is one of the funniest things ever. I remember one teacher played an episode in class when I was in elementary school, it used to be gross but I guess back then there wasn't as much overt sexuality so that was good enough.

Wilbur Cobb was a great character, but he was not a John K. creation.

I wouldn't doubt the channel bought the show on the grounds of being a "kids show" and nothing else.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised Nick/Viacom also sold it that way to outside broadcasters.

Where was this? Just name the country. I've never heard of that channel, and I live in the U.S.

and you can't really get animation done by yourself.

That hasn't been the case for twenty years.

Stephen Hillenburg went out universally beloved. John'll probably go out universally despised.

You forget that outside of the Farms every autist who even knows about him by reputation alone will stick up for him.

Who, John? I've barely seen anyone defend him, even in the wake of the scandal. We all just collectively accepted that John was a pedo.

Many animation fags hold him to an infallible pedestal and will double-think away any occasion where he might've been wrong, this is especially true if you read the comments in his blog posts. I remember seeing this when he posted images from the Iron Giant while describing scenes from Jungle Book, everyone in the comments more or less ass-patted him. If anyone points out some of his scruples, his fans will treat it like an alien artifact out of the Cthulhu mythos and rationalize it can't be true because the idea of John K having shortcomings is beyond their ability to reconcile it with their idolatry of him.

Those guys used to be everywhere back in the day, but they've largely gone by the wayside since, let's say, the late 00s, replaced with newer animation morons who have their own problems but don't worship John K. as a god.

And thank God. You could not have an honest conversation about Ren and Stimpy online back in the day.

They're still around here and there, I believe Ben the Loony is one.

Kingdom of the Netherlands and I know for a fact that at that time it was also broadcast on in Curaçao.

I'm thinking this is The Netherlands. They have several "public broadcasting" channels that are programed by numerous political and religious groups.

I think this is the channel.

That is the one.
