Essentially, you take issues with semantics and not the point I was making. Of course it's not a true female puberty because a person going through it is not a true female, but it at the very least produces secondary sex characteristics comparable to a genetic female. Look at an XY male with Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, and tell me that isn't comparable to a female puberty. If you'd like to you may also look into the five tanner stages of puberty. I am not defending the morality of such hubristic experiments, but we must still be scientifically accurate.

Off-topic, lowkey here. I read this whole thread yesterday and damn....this shit is terrible. I feel really bad for these kids, especially Jazz, who deserves a thread. I hate the argument of science being a social construct. It's so fucking stupid. You're basically splitting your argument against actual science to justify your existence as a transgender person. Literally the art of becoming COMPLETELY transgender, a biological mutation in that matter, because in a literal context, you are literally mutating and at the same time, MUTILATING your sex organs into a vaginal-like state or penal like state just because "you identify that way". Fucking hell.

The other kids in Jazz's family aren't much better off btw. The girl seems neglected to shit and the two olders boys, from what I understand, have issues with each other. One of them is reacting in a really shitty way to the other getting a girlfriend and not spending time with him 24/7. I get the impression that it's just a fucked up family all around behind the camera. I feel bad for the dad because you see him try to input some advice only to get shot down by his controlling shrew of a wife.

I don't think Jazz will ever really be happy. He had a shot, had he lived a life as a gay male that occasionally liked to crossdress. But the kid can't even go to school now without freaking out, or even hang around people with different opinions for more than five seconds. He views genitals as "cute" and spazzes over how they're shaped the way no sane person would ever do. All in all, he's a really tragic case and he wasn't allowed to grow up and know for certain whether or not he really was trans. Maybe he was, who knows? Either way, he fucked himself by never getting to the point where he could properly transition and now he's stuck with a non-functioning hole constructed by a quack.

The only thing that is trans about him is his voice...probably because he never went through puberty, but at least he SOUNDS like a girl.

You take a child or children who are not yet of a conscious age to make decisions and are forcing a life changing event upon them, without any ideas of the ramifications of that transition, and what it will have in the long run.

I remember watching an Aussie documentary about a boy who transitioned to a girl, even though he didn't have permission of his doctor, his mother got a prescription for the drugs needed due to menopause, and fed them to the kid.

At the age of 16 I think, the kid decides he's actually a he. The thing is though, that now the kid is stuck in a 12 year old's body, has a micropenis cause his junk didn't develop, and is basically stuck in Peter Pan mode now, and has to have therapy for it. His mother's excuse. "Oh well it was what he wanted at the time, and I was sure that he was a girl."

The woman should have been criminally charged, she took a perfectly healthy 6 year old boy, and made him into a malformed eunuch, because she wanted her son to transition.

A few things you are guaranteed by putting children on hormone blockers.

1) Increased chances of suicide or mental health issues, which is a well established aspect of the transexual community, coupled with the fact that the person at that young age might be pressured into making the transition by parents, which leads to further psychological issues manifesting themselves at a later age.

2) Sterility, FTM but also especially in MTF transitions, because of the early stages and lack of normal puberty, not only is the person usually left with the inability to get the actual tradition transition operation. (ala Jazz) but it also guarantees that the individual child will be left sterile or near enough in that state. So effectively the parent has castrated their child.

3) It's a child. When it comes to the identification of self as a person, a personality, and a gender then children are not the best at making their own judgments when it comes to life altering decisions. Considering that brain maturity is not fully achieved until the mid twenties, and also most people do not actually start functioning as rational adults until the period. (granted some never make it) then how can it be argued as a good thing to take a childhood momentary obsession and make life altering decisions based on it.

These parents are abusing their children. It might not be direct abuse, it might not be psychological even, but they have abandoned their parental duties that dictate that you must protect your child, even from themselves at times, even if they hate you for it.

While there has been a study done showing no reduction in executive function from kids who were placed on puberty blockers, I'm skeptical about it. When it comes to transitioning kids, a lot of the research is ideologically-motivated. It's pretty easy to get the results you want from a study by cherry-picking participants.

Realistically we don't know much about the long-term effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones on brain development because there's just no population to study. It's a wild medical experiment.

There has been a small population to study: children whose developmental deficits were so extreme they were destined for permanent home/institutional care. However, that which causes no "significant" effect to a person with minimal mental capacity might cause a crippling effect in children starting out without comparable deficits.

Extrapolation from one study out to disparate populations becomes even more unethical for children with ADHD, who executive functions have a good chance of catching up with their peers after going through puberty (Not a 100% chance, but this is why it used to be thought that ADD couldn't affect older teens and adults.) Of course, these are also the kids you'd expect to tell Mommy and Daddy in all seriousness "I should have been a girl/snowflake/mermaid/attack helicopter" at five years of age.

Kids like to have a sense of shared identity or a sort of subculture of them and their pals and separate from their parents' generation. And if you had gotten tattoos or body mods, what's the worst that could've happened? Having to get surgery to fix your stretched out ears at the most extreme, but more likely having a scar from taking out that eyebrow piercing or having to get some makeup to cover up your tattoos before you go to work. Annoying, but you'd still be you and be able to live your life normally. Having a weird phase is normal, but the trans one has significantly more permanence.
