just wondering why he doesnt consider gaming a real job not really all that excited but I guess that is how it comes across in text
Okay, let's just say gaming on a couch is a real job on YouTube and pretend that stability won't come crashing down in on itself, despite even Arin and Dan saying the exact opposite in their 2019 Update video, and completely ignore channels like Super Best Friends Play or TheRunawayGuys
Would you say gaming on a couch with a friend on YouTube would or should require:
- A "Creative Director "(Vernon)
- A "Game Development Company" (the Dream Daddy crew consisting of 12 previous members of Vernon's HotPepperGaming, alongside other potential people picked up for their 2-3 new upcoming games)
- A "Manager" (Brent)
- "Workplace Interns/Writers/Social Media Managers" (Jack, Allie, Tyler (the new writer that was flown in from Texas))
- An "Industry Skit Editor" (Tucker, hired solely for Ten Minute Power Hour)
- An "Onsite Brand Animator" (Krooked_Glasses)
- A "Financial Advisor" (Suzy Berhow)
Mind you, these are all roles that were given and stated by Arin, Dan, and others on the current and former staff (not taking into account replacements to roles over the past three years, such Brian being replaced by Allie, or Kevin being replaced by Matt, Ryan, and Tucker, whom previously took over for Barry due to being overworked). And not taking into account separate business ventures such as Real Good Touring or Good Game, as well as other unknowns that were involved with failed projects under the Game Grumps, such as The G Club.
Consider for a moment that maybe the reason they're burnt out is because they cannot physically take on all of these ventures at once, whilst using their "job" playing games as their main source of all income.
A plight that which people whom never done Let's Plays and are currently some of the highest subscribed/watch channels on all of YouTube have stated is currently affecting their income and is more unstable than it's ever been.
And that maybe, just maybe, some people on the Internet not liking a guy and cherrypicking what he says are not the reason their show needed such a drastic change or has been put into the position of, and I quote this from Dan himself, "not wanting to fire their friends due to changes in the algorithm that [they] are not informed of".
