Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Have you checked out Saiki Kusuo no Psi-Nan? It's hilarious.
Go watch Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo!! Masaru-san.

Or check out Ping Pong Club for some batshit Japanese South Park insanity. I highly recommend the dub if you're into hearing Yu-Gi-Oh characters calling each other pieces of shit.
Thanks for the suggestions niggers. Will try a smattering of episodes from each.
Your lie in April.

Because fuck you.
Oooh ominous... I will add to the list of weebery to watch once my spirits are high again

This is part of why I just watch my anime subbed. There are some cool VAs I genuinely like but so many of them are incredibly exceptional.
Yeah, the last three animeees I watched that I really loved were subbed and I have begun the process of re-watching the old animeees I liked with the subs and am so far enjoying them plenty, so im firmly on the sub side of things now.

Alright. Finished Darling in the FranXX

While the overall plot kinda went a bit bananas in the final half dozen episodes and the ending felt a tad rushed, and I have mentioned before how the sexual innuendo in the first half of the show was a bit distracting, honestly I think the whole thing was pretty damn good thanks largely to the character interactions/storylines and the thematic elements contained within the show as a whole, and I anticipate my opinion will rise even further after a customary "rewatch to understand and enjoy all the forshadowing" marathon.

If the final half dozen episodes had been stretched into a full dozen plus episode "season 2" and the story elements within had been forshadowed a bit better I think I would have barely any complaints, and would have given the show more opportunity to focus on its strengths of characters and theme.

On an entirely unrelated note, can anyone recommend a nice light hearted and decidedly non kick-judge-holden-in-the-emotional-testicles-and-leave-him-a-sobbing-manbaby-wreck animeee for me?
Cromartie High School if you never got around to it. And definitely go with the English dub. Also Ghost Stories English dub.

For newer stuff, there’s Konosuba and Asobi Asobase.

All the previous are comedy anime, save Ghost Stories where only the English dub is comedy

Ghost Stories is rad.

Basically the original anime was so poorly received and dull they basically told ADV a few years after it aired in Japan that they could do whatever the hell they wanted with it, provided the plot and the names were pretty much the same.

So they basically turned it into South Park with ghosts!

Here's a minor cringe story a friend told me about her experience at a convention way back in the early 2000s: Crispin Freeman was there and he acted every bit as over the top/edgy as the character's he portrays. The first thing he did was take her hand and kiss it.

Imagine the fallout if that happened now.

Anybody read the latest mha chapter? Im glad Shinsou and Deku are having another fight but Im not sure how I feel about Deku having more than 1 quirk. It was already great that he had the super strength/stockpile quirk from OFA but now he has like 6 more to learn?!

I dont know. I trust the author to not mess it up and add some new twists to it, but Im still not sure what to except. Im also wondering if monamo will know Deku was quirkless. And hopefully Shinsou gets to be in class a or b after this arc ends.
OH
MY
SEVEN
QUIRKS

Just finished the first season of Food Wars. I highly recommend it.

I still have to finish watching that. It is a pretty insane show.

I recently finished watching Code Geass. Slow at first, but it picked up the second season.

I came here looking for mentions of the Vic Mignona controversy. I feel like people have been claiming shit about him for years because the don't like his politics/that he's a devout Christian. Mainly because in this day and age, if something actually provable had surfaced, it'd be...out by now. I'm not a big fan of him or anything and I wouldnt be 100% surprised if he turned out to be a predator but ultimately it just seems like Twitter's usual witch hunts.

These rumors have been out for years. I recall hearing stuff like this a few years back; there's a Tumblr collecting stories like this that goes back to 2012 or so.

One actor who's known him for years has made a Twitter post saying he's heard the stories and seen stuff like this up close.

He's responded and claimed he's not homophobic, not a pervert... of course, I'm not sure how much of it is damage control.

A lot of the people who messaged her about the unnamed rapist guessed correctly, apparently.

This guy (who I think is a dub voice actor) "has his suspicions"

So while Vic's getting screeched at by yaoi fangirls, apparently a big-name dub voice actor who most likely works with Funimation was rapey with some cosplayer (so the JewWario of dubs). And now Patrick Seitz is voicing that he "has his suspicions".

I'm actually kinda going to laugh if is Sean Schemmel or even Chris Sabat (though maybe not as much as with Schemmel). If it's someone like Kyle Hebert or Sonny Strait, holy shit.

Volume 14 of the WataMote manga (a.k.a. No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular) is out in Japan.

What's notable about this commercial is that it's the first time in quite a while that seiyuu Izumi Kitta has officially voiced Tomoko Kuroki, even if it's only a couple of lines for a commercial voice-over. Could publisher Square-Enix be teasing the possibility that they'll finally commission an anime studio to make WataMote season 2, only six years after the first season and five years after the one-shot OVA side-story prequel?

Chewing my way through Date-A-Live at the moment. I was expecting pantsu-heavy drek with the opening moments with Kotori but instead it's nowhere near as fanservicy as I was expecting. Also pretty good fun to watch.

More dub people are endorsing #KickVic (screenshot from PULL)

Ahaha oh wow, if Patrick Seitz believes her then damn. If I had to take a stab in the dark I'd guess Todd Haberkorn.
Bingo. He claims innocence https://www.facebook.com/1097136424/posts/10217214343366123/

Edit: The cosplayer isn't the only person accusing him of things. This was posted a week before Jessie Pridemore posted her story. https://colossal-guest-2011.tumblr....rst-met-todd-at-anime-central-2010-if-you-can (https://archive.li/ttQzc)

Edit 2: when JP first broke the news, Todd Haberkorn messaged a dub director who was present the night (and whom he mentioned in his Facebook post) when he and she were hanging out as well as others. The guy, who is on JP's side, gives his perspective on things in this thread. https://twitter.com/neumaverick/status/1091106085006524416 (https://archive.li/ho7iR)
