A fresh new FTP game has joined the gang.
Respawn Entertainment, the creators of the Titanfall Series annouced days before, that a new Titanfall game will be released.
It's here! Ta-da! Its not Titanfall 3.... It's a Battle Royale game, set in the Titanfall universe. Okay.

I'm feeling bamboozled and mozambique'd at the same time with this because I really wanna avoid this genre but it looks alright and pretty fun in my perspective.
Any thoughts?

(TL;DR: It has been confirmed that Respawn worked on Titanfall 3 but EA switched it around and rest assets from the 3rd installment turned into Apex Legends.)

Kotaku's News Editor, Jason Schreier revealed information to the background of Apex Legends' existence. It was revealed that Respawn had after the release of Titanfall 2, the plans ready for the development on Titanfall 3. Development began on 2017 after Respawn Entertaiment being bought by EA for 455$ million but this was also a footmark for EA and had other ideas around the project and works for the new installment.

And you probably guessed it. EA took it apart and Respawn used the remaining assets from Titanfall 3 and turned into Apex Legends, that Respawn Entertainment had decided to work on.
You can say Titanfall 3 is Apex Legends. (for now)

Kinda gives more of an LawBreakers Battle Royale vibe. The Champion designs giving me some sort of a feel to it.

These guys are Apex's legendary Bounty Hunters/Field Soldiers in the Titanfall universe. They are like the Boss Pilots in the Titanfall 2 Story, without Titans. Funny thing though, all of them have no track history in the other titles. Specifically designed only for this game. Depends If the next installment of Titanfall will get some of these characters in.

It looks serviceable and it's launched more cleanly than any other battle royale: Full release (no beta/early access), polished core mechanics, optimised, F2P and using streamers to generate hype, but Origin is an instant pass and it's a downer knowing that Respawn was forced to recycle Titanfall 3 into this because EA wanted more jewgold.

I don't know if it'll last, though. The gameplay feels similar to Blackout and that gassed in a month.

The launch was surprisingly successful tbh, when I saw that this is coming out, I thought "this is gonna end badly because zero pre-launch promotion", but it's proving me wrong so far.

Multiplayer FPS games aren't my jam though, so I will pass.

And Symmetra is what? white as snow? the fuck is wrong with this people, i was going to play it because i nerded hard in Titanfall 1 (someone gave me a code that came in a humble bundle) and it was a good game, also the first thing i did was buy the japanese voice pack for the titan because i have the need to be weeb, still this look... bland? its like a very stripped version of Titanfall 2 you cant even double jump or do those sick wall running kills

Do these people care about literally anything other than identity politics? Once again, this is why you don't try to please these folks. The instant they find even one problematic element in your creation, they'll treat you as though you just did a Nazi salute. Honestly, I will fucking laugh if this game turns out worse than Overwatch.

Update: On a call reporting Q3 financial results for EA, the company said it plans to introduce a “premium” Titanfall experience — which likely means a traditional, non-free-to-play game — later this year and that it will be a “twist” on the franchise. No additional details were revealed.

EDIT: Also, Pathfinder is fun as hell, but we need a longer Grapple Hook.
 
Some of it looks rather eh, some of it looks kind of fun. It seems like a mixed bag overall. I might give it a try. Especially since it seems to be having such a clean launch.

New shooter comes out and they don't comment on the graphics, the gameplay or the functionality of the BR system. Just straight to identity politics that mean nothing at all in the scheme of things and competing for who's the bigger closet racist.

It's almost as if they don't actually play any of the games they spend so much time talking about...

I'll be missing this one since it looks too cartoony for Titanfall. It's a shame they went for this over a sequel when EA only had itself to blame for lower sales by releasing Titanfall 2 in the same month as Battlefield 1.
