Horrorcow Susan Schofield Cabana, Cory Cabana, & Michael Schofield / Schofield Productions / @bipolarnation - A Tragicomic Tale of Psychiatric Munchausen's by Proxy

The most confusing thing about this is why a vocaloid song was involved in this at all.
If I can reveal my power level (this is how I heard of Jani to begin with): the song was written by an amateur (Crusher-P) who used the Vocaloid software in her music. She was considered talented and known for making dark songs so naturally the song blew up in the fandom, becoming easy creepypasta fuel. She would’ve been a teenager back then who often spoke about her own mental health issues at the time and I have no doubt she was sympathic to what Jani’s plight seemed to be. I think Susan and Michael let it happen for free publicity, so it wasn’t incited by them if anyone thinks that. Nearly all of us would’ve thought the money was going to a good cause but, well, now the truth is out. The other thing I remember is that they briefly spoke to this composer to correct that Jani liked going to Calalini rather than how the lyrics frame her hallucinations as more malicious.
TL;DR weeby depressed teen who was suckered like the rest us uses weeb Microsoft Sam to write a song inspired by Jani, then uses her popularity to raise funds for the Jani Foundation in a misguided attempt to support mental health issues.

What is with this sudden obsession that Bodhi's going to bolt? Is he known for elopement? Does she realize Michael, while no genius, is a functioning adult who has met his child before? Or any child? I'm so confused.View attachment 661466

It's because last time that Bodhi was on so little drugs was when he was about 2, and 2 years olds can do that. Susan assumes that without drugs Bodhi would be just like he was as a toddler.

That guy Susan mentions occasionally, Carl Goss, who sends them money regularly and gifts, left this presumptive and obnoxious comment, screencapped below.

Carl Goss is a creeper who apparently really likes mentally ill children. He's been a BIG FAN of Jani's since the beginning. But also latched on to all the other munchie mom's kids- the kids tho, not the moms. I'll try to see if I can find the screenshots. He's commented on Brianna's pics, pics of that one munchie moms 3 girls, and another one I can't remember rn. He's fucking weird. No skeletons in the closet that are known, but he's very strange in the way he seems focused on little girls with a screw loose.

Wasn't aware of the removal in DSM V, but ICD 10 adds more sub groups and if you are in the medical field then we could argue this.
DSM V uses specifiers now instead of sub-types which is pretty much to define if its mainly positive symptoms like hallucinations or negative symptoms like limited or lack of affect. We also specify the severity, but that is not required.

The specifiers we use in a diagnosis relate also to how the episode presents, is it their first known episode is the episode still occuring. Are they a patient with acute episodes or chronic episodes. Some people with schizophrenia are not always actively symptomatic and some are intractable meaning that medication will not stop their hallucinations or other effects.

We do have to specify if its catatonic still since that brings extra issues into treatment.

DSM V is more spectrum based then the DSM IV so many psychological and personality disorders became more fluid in their diagnosis.

Hypomania can come with Narcissistic PD.
She's also had some delusions, which can come with bipolar.
I have a theory that she does have depressive episodes but only likes to film when she's manic. I think that's where the benadryl comes in, she just wants to be left alone in the quiet so she can nap and watch Grey's Anatomy.

:32 "I know that she's hallucinating when she'll look up towards the ceiling." Followed by clips of Jani making the Bodhi face, sickening.

(In response to the preview posted by Alto with the last Phil preview--I replied to a reply so the OP isn't there. Oops)

"We've embraced raising Jani, because we know that we're the best caretakers for her. We're Jani's parents."

False equivalency, Susan^^ Being a sperm/egg donor doesn't make you a caretaker or magically parental. This is still a thing...at least the Momma bear ends it quickly, instead of poisoning it's young through the course of a lifetime.

"There are times when I can't take this, and I wanna just sleep forever."

I bet they edited out the rest of that--so I pop my K-pins and drift of to sleepyland. Then finally I get "respite" from my constant mania.

"Part of schizophrenia is violence."

Umm, no. It's not. Most schizophrenics are terrified of people, being out in the world, etc. Because paranoia and hallucinations make the unfamiliar especially terrifying. It can sometimes cause violence if that's what the hallucinations demand of the sufferer but that's not the "normal." The way she states it so matter-of-factly and definitively bothers me--EVERY PATIENT IS DIFFERENT. Fits into her caricature stereotype of the disease though, so of course.

Addition: was it @limegreen who ran paid background checks a few weeks ago? Carl Goss might be an interesting character to add to that, if you still have access

I think Goss is the one who bought Jani a Chromebook for either her 16th birthday or Christmas. Now why would a grown man with hardly any connection to Jani buy her a fucking Chromebook. It all sounds a little wrong to me. A little groom-y.

Incoming mad on the internet:

It is so fucked up that ANYONE in these children’s lives would seek to parade them and their lives on the internet and television the way Susan and Mike do. Everything either of them does betrays a total lack of respect for their children’s right to privacy, dignity, and well being. For the rest of their lives, the entire childhood of these children is available for anyone to see. They have exposed their children to creepers like Goss and (likely) Cori. They post about their most intimate and personal moments, including pubertal developments and bedwetting incidents. And honestly Michael should be FUCKING ASHAMED for thinking doctor-fucking-Phil is EVER an appropriate solution to the maltreatment of your children, and Susan and Cori are doubly culpable for agreeing to it. If either of them had a single shred of respect for their children they would stop broadcasting every second of their lives, take their battle to the courts, and start acting like goddamn adults. There is a FIVE HUNDRED PAGE THREAD dedicated to documenting exactly how you are both fucking up your children and you think the solution is MORE MEDIA EXPOSURE? Do they think this is fucking normal?!

This is real milky for us and all, but the sheer lunacy of these poor kids’ reality is staggering. I can’t fathom how bad it would fuck me up to have the darkest parts of my childhood repeatedly exposed not only on national television, but preserved on the internet for all of time. And I get that DCFS operates under specific constraints but for the love of god, someone there should be preventing them from going on tv and putting a gag order on posting about their children. It’s fucking sick.

And Kelli: you need to watch yourself and your family too. You have posted your full name and childhood on a public forum. For the rest of time, employers, co-workers, and casual acquaintances will find this thread when they google your name or your father’s. As your kids get older, it may get linked to them. You have nothing to be ashamed of or hide, but you might want to reserve the right of you and your relatives to choose who knows about your family issues and when. Protect your privacy and the privacy of people who could be linked to your postings. YOU TOO, AMY. Your kids could be inextricably linked to this shit forever.

God I hope someone terminates BOTH their parental rights. Neither mike nor Susan have any business raising children.

Regarding the two Dr. Phil clips that were posted the other day:

I had never bothered to watch them before. I had initially read the LA Times piece back in 2009, and I think there were a few video clips included in the online version of that article, but I hadn't actually bothered to watch the TV appearances in full because I figured they'd just put me in a bad mood. I had just seen a few bits and pieces or read about them here.
The only shocking thing about Jani's behavior is how incredibly unremarkable it is. She's just hanging out, answering the questions that are asked of her, looking around the studio, asking where the [real] dog went. In short, acting like a little kid. I cringed in second-hand embarrassment when Dr Phil was saying he could barely keep up with her and that he was 'sweating'. I truly cannot imagine anyone, whether they've spent time around kids or not, watching that footage and getting the impression that she's running around like some manic wild child. Turn on any episode of a show like Super Nanny and you'll see much worse behavior than Jani's ever exhibited, and they aren't hauling those kids off to the mental hospital to be doped up with 1950's psych drugs.
Another thing I noticed was that Dr Phil asks Jani about 400 the Cat twice. The first time in the kitchen, he phrases it like,'Is 400 a nice cat?' and Jani replies that 400 is nice. The next time he asks her when they're sitting on the sofa, he phrases it like,'Do you pet 400 or is he too mean?' and she replies that 400 is mean. She is so clearly just following his lead and saying what she thinks will please the adult asking her the questions.

Just saw Grey Lighten's story on Kelli - here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJnNb_8D6wk

I caught the contradiction with 400 as well. I would think hallucinations don't "change" their personalities. It sounds more along the lines of a child's imagination.

My most recent searches around YouTube et al. turned up empty for the whole thing but if my sleep deprived brain functions tomorrow I will grab the drive it's on from my house before work and upload it to a file hosting site tomorrow night while I am at work. That episode ought to be part of our thread's archive anyway if it isn't already.

Do you happen to have either of the full episodes for the original Dr Phil or Oprah appearances?

Socialblade says 5-42$ for the toilet video. In my experience it's usually somewhere in the lower half of the range they give and my guess would be around 15-20$ or maybe less since so many people use adblock when watching their videos.

One thing I also noticed in that clip is that her language is not at the level of a 8 or 9 year old. I think she was 9 in the clip? She seemed to have the same kind of language delays a lot of kids on the spectrum have, not great at answering any sort of non-concrete/open ended question. She couldn't answer Why questions, and I'm not sure she even understood longer, complex questions "Do you pet 400 or is he too mean?" It seemed whenever she was given a choice, she always just threw out the last part of the question, very echolalic. I suspect a lot of the stuff she said independently was echolalia that was coached by Susan.

Dr. Phil apparently noticed nothing because he has no knowledge in the area....so hopefully this time around he will have autism specialists involved since Bodhi has an actual autism diagnosis.

Yeah, WHY questions are particularly hard for kids on the spectrum, but just for comparison: A boy I've known for years is 7 now and has started to succeed at answering them. He has greater language issues and behavioural issues than Jani at 9 did.

Just to show how they fucked Jani over and what could've been. Compared to what I've and other parents have dealt with, she wasnt violent at all.

Even if the episode doesn't air until May, I have no doubt that we'll have info about how it went down much sooner. Heck, even if we didn't have our inside sources (hat-tip to you folks, whoever y'all are), it would be a shock if Susan could keep her mouth shut about it all, nondisclosure agreement or no. If Dr. Phil rips her a new one, we'll hear about it. With any luck, the episode's May air time will come after other, better developments in the world of Jani and Bodhi.
