calling it now so that i can come back in a year or so and tell myself i was right

dems put the worst possible person up to bat

trump runs a campaign summed up with "fuck commies, fuck trannies, and fuck you, jobs jobs jobs jobs jobs"

trump wins by a wider electoral margin than last time and dems commit mass seppuku, we enter the dark age of entertainment where it all just becomes nhialistic assholes grumbling about trump

I'm sorry but how is this any different from what we're going through right now

Right now they're under the delusion that if they snarkily point out every little thing wrong with Trump, people will listen to them and they'll win.

Imagine that sweet feeling of dread that fell over your television sets the moment they had to announce he won. People crying in the street and tipping over flaming garbage cans. Celebrities looking like they're about to jump out of a window.

Now imagine it stretched over four years.

You're still just describing the follow-up to the 2016 election and Trump's entire term up to this point.

You know what? I hate AOC's politics and policies, but I'm pretty sure she would be running this term if the minimum age wasn't 35, which is way too high and total bullshit.

Way too high? Are you fucking kidding me? It's way too goddamn low.

If Trump wins will the reaction be better or worse than 2016?

Depends what you mean by better or worse. If by better you mean the Left's reaction will be even more cringe-worthy than in 2016 I doubt it because I don't think they'll go into this election as overly optimistic as they were in 2016.

I am quite :optimistic: that this election will result in a total collapse of the Democratic Party to hopefully be restructured into something more sane (I can't stress enough though that this possibility requires some :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:)

It's not going to happen though if the Dems and their voters accept the fact that they are capable of being wrong or making mistakes, and stop blaming everything on the nazis or russia.

True that. These days, people are barely graduating from college by 23 or 24--25, frequently. If they go straight from undergrad to a graduate program (such as law school), that's another three years at least.

Good Lord, there are people barely entering the adult realm before they're 30, and 35 is too long to ask someone to wait before they take the Oval Office?

Anyway. The topic of this thread.

The Dems may be hoping that, by sending every eligible maiden to the ball, the princes of America will find the Right One. But the problem with that approach is that Cinderella has to shine above and beyond the others to be picked out. None of these candidates really shines. Not yet. They may be able to find a Second Coming of Obama, but I doubt it; we'd have heard of them by now.
