Why does Game Informer's Imran Khan keep referencing Reset Era in his news articles? He never links to Reddit.

Why doesn't Imran Khan warn his readers, his editors, or his publisher that he routinely links to a far-left hate forum that bans anyone with a dissenting view and doxes game industry employees?

Does Imran Khan's editor at Game Informer approve of stuffing Reset Era links into numerous news articles? Are Game Informer's advertisers aware that news page of Game Informer is turning into a far-left hate speech zone?

ResetERA is basically the modern version of the religious assholes from the 80s that used to insist you were going to burn in hell for rock music, cartoons, and Dungeons and Dragons, and one in particular: The American Family Association. So these assholes were ever in the vanguard, writing letters to complain about a show allowing gay people on the air or how Looney Tunes was too violent. The difference is that cable TV and the Internet made them essentially irrelevant, since the decency standards they were accusing people of breaking were entirely for broadcast television and radio. I remember Michael Stackpole's Pulling Report, which was a comprehensive (hell, almost autistic) inspection of Patricia Pulling and her one-woman war against roleplaying games. Good times. She'd have easily picked up a thread nowadays.

I never was sure if her, uh, crusade was a cynical attempt to gain fame and fortune at the expense of her son's demise, or if she honestly suffered some kind of mental breakdown (due to not seeing her son's mental issues sooner) and was desperately trying to pin the blame on something, anything else, rather than have it circle back to her parenting failure.

Might be related to the initial astroturfing that happened on waypoint, polygon and kotaku. Quoting reset and crediting them (not the poster) with the scoop is a major driver for their visitor count and registration backlogs (i believe currently it's over a month before you get the privilege to post if the background check clears).

Their only difference was for a time, social media bullshit was seen as actually relevant, in a way that letter writing is no longer. Currently, the only people sending reports bitching about stuff printed (or handwritten) on dead trees are crazy old bats and are simply ignored.

People are slowly realizing social media complaints are even more for no-life shut-in dangerwhales who represent nobody but themselves, and are not a huge purchasing bloc that it makes any sense to cater to.

Similarly, they flood everyone with so much in the way of garbage complaints that they have overwhelmed any ability to respond rationally to them, and much like the FCC, the complaint takers are eventually just going to throw in the towel and delete all their bullshit and ignore them.
