I loved the part when the officiant says something like, “with all their friends and family present in support..” and Bodhi is standing with his back to them drooling, with his fingers pressing against his palate.
It’s Susan’s wedding day. Maybe she couldn’t afford much like new clothes, but Jani’s shoes were two sizes too big, her hair was unkept as always and yeah, she was constantly scratching her butt and pulling her dress out of her butt crack.
She sat quietly through part of the wedding but as soon as her mom spoke she started her hand rubbing thing, and was soon on stage where she didn’t belong. You’d expect that from a 3 year old, not a 14 year old.
It’s nice to see her happy but she grabbed the mic from the DJ once when he clearly wasn’t ready and as always, nobody corrected her. I do and always have thought her issues were because of a lack of parenting, not autism, and it was all compounded by drugs.
Nobody ever told that girl to stand up straight, to sit quietly and not touch privates in public. She could understand that and even if she was mentally ill, your goal should be to teach them to be in society. That includes simple manners.
