When Jazz got to do internet school he started to binge eat at night and that's how he got fat. The emotional problems were never dealt with.

I recall seeing a documentary about the boy with the botched circumcision that John Money abused the shit out of, and one part it touched upon was in his adolescence he also started to binge eat and gained a fuckton of weight too. At the time it had just been dismissed as typical teenage growing pains, but later investigations and interviews showed this wasn't the case. It turns out that the kid had started gaining weight because he'd developed an eating disorder, the cause being that the hormones he was being slipped were causing him to grow breasts, and the legitimate dysphoria that was bringing him caused him to try and hide it as fat.

I don't know the exact timeline of Jazz's transition, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if something similar was going on.

A lot of transwomen who lose their libido on estrogen either tinker with their meds until it comes back or realize that it didn't actually go anywhere -- it just sort of changed.
