Yeah, I'm with Rekieta where if you insist on hashtaging this shit, that's certainly the better option.
As for me, the crap that
@Jaimas pointed out with how Marchi has been fucking with dub scripts is causing me to seriously consider swearing off Funimation dubs. I'm watching fansubs of
My Roommate is a Cat, and I think I'm gonna just keep going that route.
A lot of weebs started boycotting Funimation after the Prison School incident, but in all incidents to follow, they had more and more former customers fuck off. Funimation didn't even bother to respond, until the weebs started organizing into actual boycotts, at which point they put up that big purple message from earlier, which was neat because Funimation also neglected to add any context as to
why there was outcry from the community in the first place.
The thing is, when that thing finally went nuclear, Funimation had already had like four previous strikes. Everyone knows about the shit they did in Prison School (random GG references, references to Clinton, and Dragon Maid (random feminist references, complete character dialogue re-writes that undermine the entire fucking show, etc), but it was Funimation's handling of Hajimete no Gal that finally caused the proverbial core breach and the boycott threats to emerge.
Good god, where to start with this one. If you're not familiar with this one, I'm not at all surprised, it's about as straightforward as harem animes get. It's a low-brow humor show with tits and I've never watched more than its trailer. The dub, meanwhile, basically slashes and burns intentionally attempting to take shot at Trump, VN fans, and basically anyone the clique at funimation takes issue with. There's an entire segment in one of the later episodes where they unironically have a dirty old man bitch about millenials and SJWs. Amusingly, this show's writing credit is completely blank, possibly in an effort to hide who was responsible.
But that's three for three where Jamie Marchi was the source of massive, sweeping, politically-motivated dialogue alterations (that she bragged about on Twitter later), and Funimation gave nary a fuck until boycotts got threatened.
