Just to preface, I'm more for the idea of predator vs prey was meant to be ambiguous, since the argument could technically go either way. But Jerry's spewing nonsense, as usual, and here's why;
"Prey are white people and predators are everyone else"
Obviously. The struggle for Judy to become a police officer or how poorly predators tended to treat prey all throughout the movie (like when the fox kid taunted Judy for wanting to become a police officer despite being a prey) and Bellwether's persistence on making predators look like the absolute
devil for having
SYSTEMIC SUPERIORITY clearly shows that prey are the whities.
That scene with Nick and the ranger scouts went right over Jerry's head. It's meant to show that "oppressor vs oppressed"
ISN'T purely black and white.
But no, prey are meant to represent white people because of one line a background character used in one scene.
The idea of predators representing white people and prey representing everyone else even fits that autistic social justice definition of racism, the whole power + prejudice mantra, since prey were at the bottom of the figurative food chain. They were the ones being denied jobs, denied service at stores, etc
because they were prey, because they were seen as lesser. Jerry's acting like 20 minutes of everyone saying that predators are bad hombres and a big "RISE UP" series of clips means that any white conservative who thinks predators are meant to represent white people are racist and "desperately want to be oppressed". Sure it's mentioned that prey outnumber predators in the movie just as white people seem to outnumber everyone else in the USA, but did you expect it to be at a 1:1 scale to the world we live in?
Prey being white people fits the "ugh white people think they're so oppressed" mantra that Jerry's speaking against, since, for the majority of the movie, the prey were explicitly seen as the oppressed class.
But I think the best part of the post is this;
"Judy's racial biases came from NOWHERE, therefore prey are white people!"
BAHAHAHAHAHA JERRY YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID
I don't need to say anything else about this. For someone saying that people claiming that the real-life connection was ambiguous had no idea what they were talking about to be outright
wrong about something that happened
IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE, this is fantastic.
Honestly though, I'm pretty sure the asker was referring to something like Illumination's Sing, where the main characters were all animals for no real reason other than the fact that it's a kids movie meant to look pretty.
