Sorry if this isn't the right place for such nonsensical garbage, but I was quite impressed by the level of obstinacy required to be offended by the expectation that you demonstrate decent behavior in order to socialise. Because god forbid these people develop any impersonal skills beyond endlessly whining about girls aren't lining up to suck their dicks.

So basically it's confirmed – despite what they say, they use the term cis to "remind" people that transfolx are being oppressed by them. It's not merely an opposite identifying label like black & white, male & female, able-bodied & disabled, etc., because the term didn't exist and wasn't used by the group being labeled with it until trans started using it – 99.4% of the population's identity and gender experience is being defined in relation to and by the 0.6% – and because of that it's a loaded term meant to place blame.

Sure, transwomen are so oppressed and don't feel safe because of those dangerous ciswomen. I'm not going to speak for every radfem ever, that'd be idiotic; but by and large radfems wouldn't encourage anything having to do with "gender" because it's couched in the projection of sex stereotypes. They'd tell troons to go ahead and wear all the makeup, sparkly beautiful dress-up crap, etc associated with "femininity" that they want, but to be honest with their sexual dimorphic reality and refer to themselves as men (and vice versa for the female to trans people). Sounds like it was made by a liberal feminist trying to tell troons to stop being a total freak show right before she quits and radfems out. Happens every day.

Wholeheartedly agree. There’s a reason the radfems have a megathread for “and here’s the point where I finally gave up on troonkind” posts. An awful lot of the women on gendercrit started out as 3rd wave/libfem women and then somebody in their life trooned out or they themselves are “transwidows”. The actual troonery IRL really puts all of your preconceived beliefs into sharp relief; these men make a mockery of the hoops many women feel forced to jump through just to survive in society. There is a reason asktransgender users warn each other to never go to the depressing hellscape known as gendercritical... and the women in gendercrit tell each other to go read atg/mtf for laughs or to hateread.

In the middle of Bush Jr's presidency there was a significant exodus of intellectuals from the Republican party when they realized their party no longer stood for what they believed in. Some became moderate Democrats, others just checked out of politics altogether. I think we're already seeing the first rumblings of dissent on places like Quillette and The Atlantic. I wouldn't be at all surprised that a number of people on this site initially started off as sympathetic, but got driven out due to the constant purity cycles, nonsensical logic, victim mentality, and so on. Here's a picture of a guy I found on r/drag, with the title 'My first time in drag'.

Wig is at a natural place for it to be, and it doesn't appear to be a 10.99 from Party City one. His brows are done (and he just drew them in with a pencil, which is what a real woman does, as opposed to glueing them down, covering them with foundation, and drawing them in with a pencil, which is what a drag queen does), he has lipstick that's only a little outside of where it should be, and he has foundation on to even out his skin tone. Most of the tranz in those photos aren't wearing any makeup at all.

Now, it's not a very good drag look, nor is he passable for a woman (granted drag queens aren't usually trying to be!), but it's still better than the people who supposedly feel immense dysphoria at looking in the mirror and seeing a man.

One of the most exceptional things about modern troonery is the number of straight guys transitioning because they want to be protected or pampered.

In Susan Faludi’s book about her trans father, she keeps in touch with a straight guy who goes to Thailand to get his cock turned into a sock, and he said one of his reasons for transitioning was to be pampered. And it’s like, who did he think was going to pamper him? Women? If we're talking something stereotypical like a woman being showered with jewels, it’s men who are expected to do that. Women don’t tend to do that for men, and lesbians rarely, if ever, do it for each other; I’ve known zero lesbians who had that kind of dynamic in their relationship. The guy also wound up marrying a poor woman from Thailand, so she wasn’t going to be doing that for him.
