A-Kon isn't the largest con by any stretch, but it is the oldest anime specific con in the US. This has gotta sting for him. Cons talk to each other, and he ain't gonna be staffing much of anything anytime soon.

It’s likely both simpler and slightly more complex. Sony or it’s execs pretty much have a fiduciary duty to not take ownership of these two twitter twats. Right now it is somebody else’s expensive problem. Their job is to not make it Sony’s expensive problem. Sony has neither a reason nor an obligation to legally indemnify them for their personal social media antics.
Judging by what we saw of his mangy apartment Life isn’t going the way Shane pictures it in his head.

Funimation has their own audio studio in their offices. Sabat's company handles Dragon Ball for them.

While people might want to shitcan Sabat, I'm actually against that idea only because he is one of the few people who has access to the original Japanese broadcast audio from when Dragon Ball originally aired. Basically, Toei wiped the master tapes after airing because they were skeptical of home media and stored the optical audio. Problem is that it makes the audio tinny as shit.

I'm sure Anime Expo will take him as some unpaid volunteer getting heat stroke or crushed to death. I doubt anime cons give a fuck who is doing their grunt work since they're usually pretty desperate for volunteers.
Because Sabat came up I decided to take a look at his Twitter. Nothing on his main Twitter but his replies have been a little interesting. Mostly telling people to cool off, they don't have all the facts, but he knows what's going on. Apparently he's been having Twitter fights that don't show up unless you check replies. The best I can do with an archive here.

Worst case: Redo the foley. That's what Les Claypool III did with Macross Plus Vol 4. Or pay him for the recordings. He owns that specific recording, not the underlying IP.

He owns one of them. The one used for DB. I was mistaken in my belief that it's the only one. They have an internal one apparently.
I got the wrong impression from listening to Nick's stream the other night. Nick felt that losing OrkaTron 5000 would be a big deal to the company.

Friend got me some artwork of Vegeta signed by Sabat himself. It's framed and everything. I was stoked about it and then I made the mistake of thinking these voice over artists were too decent to get involved in shit like this. I'm thinking about taking a hammer to it, IDK.
On the plus side, they sent me a signed and framed print of Trunks by his VO, Eric Vale, who looks like he's been smart enough to keep his mouth shut. I mean he's on twitter sperging about Trump like every other twat in the entertainment industry is, but that's comparatively forgivable IMO.
Also would it be worth making a thread for Nick? I like following his stuff, even when it's not strictly about the Weeb Wars. Would be nice to have a landing zone for his other content.

I wanna see more immolations, personally. I really enjoyed Jim's debates with Dean Esmay, Dino Dini and Destiny. Nick v. Shane was the most satisfying exchange since any of Jim's own, and that's including when he tore into Ross and Diogenese. I legit hope more people will start thinking they can outsmart an actual lawyer with shit they read off of a Wiki.

See? Every time I look at an allegation, it comes from someone connected to funimation, or an anonymous source that can't be confirmed, or if they say they have evidence, it's a fan video or photo that's been used without the persons knowledge or permission. Every single time.
It's like the Russian pee tape all over again. They've got their headcanon, and they are going to outright manipulate things to prove their headcanon is real.
