Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

You mean for something like the INSANE goal post moving of the Mueller investigation.

Yes, its Trump's fault you've been calling him Papa Mueller and performing songs celebrating his virtue for the last two years.

I mean, he is not (completely) wrong, when they finish the report and it's inevitably disappointing for them it will be their fault not Mueller's for over hyping it and treating Mueller like a god and the only hope against the orange menace and believing every bit of "insider information" they hear.

I feel bad for Mueller in a way since the cult they created around him will inevitably lead to him being know as the man who could have stop orange man but didn't for the rest of his life.

Call me optimistic but in the years after the trump presidency people are most likely going to forget a good bunch of this. Eventually people are going to have to look at results overall and ultimately Trump may very well be exonerated as long as he leaves the country in better shape after he leaves as chief executive. We'll have mountains to dig through his records and the issue with getting an overall comprehensive view of him will be immensely difficult since everyone had an opinion and wanted to say something. History overall will be very interesting to research when it comes to later eras and charting the path of historiography will likely be an intriguing subject as well.

Is something actually significant happening at CPAC, or are my coworkers getting whipped up into a frenzy by the media just because Trump is talking?

Edit: For clarity I'm hearing he's long overstayed his scheduled speaking time, that people are bailing out yet Trump says he's seen no one leave, and that he's claimed to write an executive order declaring public universities have to uphold free speech (which sounds like a thing he works say, which is more redundant than “unconstitutional”, but also seems like a ploy to get liberal colleges to refuse Federal funding).

Also maybe some people left do to time but looking at the crowd doesn't seem to be a significant amount.

So, uh, what exactly is the point of CPAC (and whatever the equivalent on the left is)? Like I get that it gives a bunch of talking heads time to kiss each others’ asses and say how great their ideas are, but what does it actually accomplish?

Everyone gets together, gives the Jews and the reptilians pledges of loyalty, and fucks all the little kids that they want as both payment for and blackmail to ensure their service.

Honestly, I'm guessing it's like a business convention. It's paid vacation disguised as work.

It's a part of that whole Conservatism Inc.'s Grift to compliment the RNC's Graft, like all of the neocon publications circling the drain and libertarian thinktanks that work to lobby that people have no right to a just wage or healthcare while being staffed entirely by people so utterly talentless they would starve without their sinecured positions.

Its hardly unconstitutional to demand organizations that receive public money protect the civil rights of their customers. In fact its mandated by law.

The very fact that this will be shit on shows how far from acceptance, freedom, freedom of speech, and a belief in an open society free from tyranny the former bastion of human freedom, the USA, has fallen. It's truly sad.

EDIT: I call my own autism for overusing"free". I could have phrased that better, but still, it's fucking sad how many Americans are willing to just toss out the only (previously inviolable) personal integrity they had against a government.

Honestly the "executive order" bit is very questionable even if the reactions are funny.

Agreed. There has been too much "feature creep" in the office of the POTUS. That has been getting progressively worse since GHWB, and amped up every presidency since.

I would prefer to see people and institutions conduct themselves in ways that do not require government intervention. For example, the President of the United States shouldn't have to threaten the funding of universities to ensure that anyone who has a dissenting opinion can speak on campus without fear of being assaulted by some PC Principal wannabe. Not only are the people running these universities adults, their students are too. They should know better than to assault someone for saying things they dislike.
