There's an item in the GFM TOS that says you can't use a campaign to mount a legal defense in certain cases, but it seems to be tied to the defense of
crimes against protected or semi-protected classes (gender, race, etc.). And even if the TOS lazily mentioned "intimidation" or "harassment," no intimidation of any sort is happening by the beneficiary of the funds (in this case, the IOLTA account it's connected to).
So, basically, don't commit a "hate crime" (as GFM defines it) and expect to pay your CRIMINAL defense attorneys using GFM. Otherwise, you're probably fine. Getting Vic's explicit permission, and connecting it to an IOLTA run by Beard et al., was smart on Nick's part.
