I don't think Ron is anywhere near that smart, and the lawyers aren't dumb enough to fall for it anyway.

I do suspect, though, that Shane might think that he's doing some grand trolling scheme by trying to scapegoat himself... I think maybe he thinks that if he can get himself dragged into court and deposed, he'll have a good laugh at them and tell them he doesn't know anything (and he really doesn't). Then, I think, he thinks they've got absolutely no case, and no other leads... so he'll have done a great funny and wasted a lot of #VicKicksBack's time and money.

Shane is dumb enough that I think he might actually think that.

I think 30 minutes into being roasted by Carey Christie in a deposition and he will have realized the error of his ways as she breaks what balls he has left from when his ex wife left him. He has talked some big game and if he actually did hold some sort of managing positions at the Conventions he probably does know some things that might be useful.

I, for one, feel uncomfortable with Anime Matsuri getting too involved in this.

The guy who runs it is, in many ways, the antithesis of Vic.
I do agree. Their first donation was okay, take away the politics and it was just a nice show that there are some cons still inviting him. Now they're interacting and buddying up with the spergs commenting on #KickVic and I'm not a big fan.

Reminder that Carey made a dude cry on the witness stand and enjoyed it when a deposition erupted into a fistfight. Man, what I wouldn't pay to be a fly on a wall at any of her depositions.

Which one of them threatened to murder the opposing counsel if he didn't stop calling her "little girl" or whatnot in court? And got away with it?

Kai was hot shit? How?

It was hot shit because it had been ten years since anything Dragon Ball-related came out. It was just a remastering of Z with filler cut out to be closer to the manga, but it was something. Sean Schemmel freaking the fuck out over someone criticizing his autotuned singing is funny, though, because I could've sworn Funimation publicly apologized for it (even if jokingly).

It's not just that. It's that, unlike Vic, something DOES seem "off" about John Leigh.

He's made comments (archived and provable) to young female attendees about sending nude pix, lingerie, having orgasms, and sleeping in the same bed.
He threatened litigation over this, and then called it off at the 11th hour with no gain.
He owns a high end EGL(olita) shop, and he's not gay.

I just don't like it. I note the girls (?) over on the Beauty Parlor seem to agree. Not everybody who supports Vic would be good for Vic.

It's like an anti-fall guy, except even more fucking scummy somehow.
Still, innocent until proven guilty, but this shit is legitimately creepy, even without word-of-mouth shit.

Minor correction just to add. The "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!" OVA came out about a year before Kai. It was the special with the introduction of Tarble. Apart from that though, you're pretty much spot on. There's a lot of shit that went on behind the scenes with the dub of Kai but that's not important.

As for Dragon Soul, it's funny that out of all of the English renditions officially released, everyone flocks to Vic's cover because it is legitimately the best of them all without considering it was the version used for Nicktoons.

All of the DVDs had different singers for the first 6 parts. (Sean Schemmel, Justin Cook, Vic, Greg Ayres, Sonny Strait and Brina Palencia) but Justin is easily the worst alongside Schemmel.

Yeah, I'm not calling for him to be run out of Houston, lose his businesses, or whatever. So I don't think I'm being hypocritical here. I'm just saying having Anime Matsuri closely associated with Vic might not be such a hot idea. Vic hasn't displayed any of the creepy-ass behaviors Leigh has.

The girls over on the BP posted that an overwhelming majority of the EGL community will not associate with AM because they think the guy is a straight up creeper. That doesn't describe Vic.

Having him involved in this might almost be like having Zoom or KingofPol involved in it.

Huh. That's actually not terrible.

They're Marxists -- either literally in the case of some particularly exceptional individuals, or indoctrinated in Cultural / Identity Marxism as useful idiots in the case of others. As someone pointed out in ComicsGate, to certain sects of Marxism -- Maoism I believe -- what they're doing makes perfect sense.

If they subvert an institution to their own benefit, then awesome, they now have an institution that works for them. If the institution resists and they burn it to the ground on their way out, then awesome, they have denied an institution to the enemies of the party. Either way, they come out ahead, or their enemies come out behind.

And Identity Marxists consider Straight / White / Males to be the enemy.

Got a video game industry that a bunch of SWMs like? Subvert or destroy it. Comics? Subvert or destroy it. Anime? Subvert or destroy it. That i s the mindset of some of the SJWs. Straight White Men like these things, so they must be inherently bad (otherwise the Straight White Men wouldn't like them) or they must be "fixed" in order to indirectly "fix" the Straight White Men who enjoy them.

The only winning move is to throw these fuckers out the second you detect their Commie bullshit brewing -- but it's hard, because as mentioned before, these types don't believe in money, and they're subsidized by other commies and daddy's credit card, so they work for peanuts and do the shit jobs no one wants to because it gives them an in to do their great work -- "fixing" a "problematic" industry from inside.

An interesting corollary to this is that the response by the offensive crowd (the anti-vic crowd, in this case) has been especially weak. During previous outrage-fests, like GG or CG or MTGG, they had the full support of the press, a massive pool of activists to get their collective backs, and the guaranteed assistance of other groups to help prop up the narrative. Faking incidents, for them, was easy, the press would report on all of them like they were legit (see also: USU bomb threat, Jace in general, Dan Olson's little sting operation, etc), no one would ever even look into their insane claims when they were false, and even when they lost, they'd usually do quite a large bit of damage in the process.

That's not the case for this incident.

After the initial accusations, Vic went radio silent, admitted to nothing, and backed off while the opposition shit themselves. When the inevitable phase of faked shit to shore up the objective happened, Vic never admitting to anything in the first place made them look unbelievably desperate and suspect. As time has gone on and the Justice Boner™ has charged up, they've only gotten more desperate, which is especially fun as they've lost pretty much everything one of these offensives needs to be successful: the support of the press (which have had mass layoffs and aren't going to cover this considering it reeks of the Autistic lovechild of the Kavanaugh and Smollet allegations), their own follower-base (who think they're liars), and the usual crowd that would otherwise back them up (who are, to say the least, divided).

How 'young' are we talking here? Surely if he was talking about orgasms to 13 year olds his ass would be in jail by now, so I assume young means 18-24 or something. Is there anything objectively bad he's done, like him raping people? I've heard maybe he slept with some models in exchange for exposure in the lolita scene, which some might consider sleazy, but not exactly illegal if it was consensual 'sleeping your way to the top' thing.

tl;dr; Is there anything actually tangible or criminal about the dude?

Well, there's also the prior civil suits for fraud & such. That's all a matter of public record. You have to do a minimum of 4 searches on the Harris County Clerk's web site to see all of their prior cases: one for each of them personally, one for the company they lost the tax registry for when they failed to pay the necessary taxes, and one for the company they started after the first went under. And that's just for the stuff filed in Harris County. That's more than a little unsettling. Definitely don't donate to their GoFundMe if they set one up.

This incident has happened post learn 2 code and post Covington. The garbage tier culture blogs have shed a ton of staff writers and those that remain are looking at the freight train currently steam rolling the Washington post and sweating it. Like true commies, they ran out of other peoples money in the form of venture capital for their far left tripe.

More importantly though their enemies have figured out the game and know not to apologize. Exhibit A is rackets, aka #blackface lawyer. They absolutely dont know why he isn't shitting himself and bowing before them after they uttered the word of power "racist!".

Vic likewise did not apologize. Hilariously though the idiots ran with their core NPC programming. Several cons (notably Pensacon) justified dropping vic because he had "fully admitted to his crimes in the apology". He had done no such thing of course but these idiots are stuck in a programming loop and it did not occur to them that the narrative was no longer going as usual.

Shit, I really hope this doesn't bite Vic in the ass. He's been dragged enough as it is.
