Phil implies, and I paraphrase, along the line of the following statement on the stream

"Uuuuuuuuuuuum, guys, The contribution is a bit slow tonight, if you forgot how to tip, please click the tip jar below the stream and it will give you a direct link to paypal..............."

Phil is 3rd on his team, rocking that 11-kill 16-death record against a short handed team that just kicked their asses

"BEASTING" lol

Doesnt matter.

Comes mid april, he will announce that "THANKS TO YOU"... he made enough money to pay for his "taxes". He then will leave to CT? to spend all the extra money he begged out of disabled people. Will come back and for a few weeks, everything will be normal... but then! Another drama will come and he will need more money for some reason.

I think the moment he comes back he'll be asking for extra tips to make up for how much income he lost from taking his CT vacation, but how he had to do it because his parents are so sick with uhh...being in their 60's? He'll probably try and spin it to say how good it was to see them again, and he'd love to see them again one last time before mystery illness finally does them in, but it's so hard for him to take time off, so he'd only be able to do it and see his poor family again if his fans were extra generous with their tips.

And the best part of the Tip Shaming® is: people almost always react to it by throwing money at him. It really seems like he has between 30 and 60 diehard supporters who take up the task of making sure there's something being done at least once per stream to keep him (semi-)happy. But yeah, a message like "here's some money to raise your spirits a bit" basically says enough about the state DSP is in nowadays.

Here's a clip of him mentioning it's a slow stream again during the latest Co: MW Remastered stream - it feels like he's been doing that at least once during almost every stream for the past 7 days straight, btw - including the tip + message.

His theory about why things have be s l o w for some time now:

"Maybe some people are saving up because they know those events are coming this month to help with my taxes next month. That'd be great, if that's the case."

"sorry it's not much"

Why the fuck do people apologize? You're giving them money. It's not like this exclusive to Daves stream either, I've seen this quite a bit. Usually though the streamer makes sure to tell the person not to worry. But Jesus Christ, apologizing while giving money away, can you be a bigger cuck?

Complains he doesn't remember the plot. Ignores the in-game plot summary...

I know that getting mad at DSP is stupid but GOD DAMN does he make it hard to not do sometimes.

Remember, this is the same guy that ragequit UFC3 after two online matches because the "12 hour single player campaign didn't explain how to play the game."

Keep in mind the following things:
  1. Online mechanics are exactly the same as single-player mechanics except the prompts/instructions aren't on the screen and DSP didn't take any time to memorize them or hadn't remembered any of them despite playing for 12 hours.
  2. DSP never even bothered to learn different ways to fight; he just spammed takedowns the entire time. He didn't set up any of these takedowns; he just spammed them. When he got to a human opponent that could block his takedowns, he legit had no idea what to do.
  3. DSP had no idea how to block takedowns because he never bothered to learn. He at one point said it was impossible to block takedowns despite his opponent literally blocking every takedown.
  4. When pointed out that DSP never played the tutorial, he said that he shouldn't have to play the tutorial because the single player campaign should have taught him everything.
  5. He said that the people that wanted him to play online are "a bunch of fucking idiots" because they knew that the online play was "completely different" than the single player game and they never told him that, so it was a "waste of his time."
  6. He legit got pissed off that he had 700 viewers on stream instead of his usual 400 viewers because those extra 300 viewers were obviously trolls that only watched to see him get bodied in the online play and he got trolled.

It's twelve o'clock on a weekday
The regular pigs wander in
There's a fat man sitting on the couch
Hasn't bathed, and is reeking of gin

He says "snort Can you cheer, sub, and tip me?
I'm not really sure what I owe
But I need it complete or I'm out on the street
So please give me all of your dough."

Oh ACK ACK ACKACK ACK ACK
ACKACK ACKACKACK KAHMAAAHN...

Beg us for dough, you're the Piggy Man
Beg us for dough today
Well we all love your kwalidy khantent
And you need that money, okaaay?

(pardon me, I have no shame)

Something’s wrong...
Something’s missing...

No one’s mentioned Waddles complaining about how his Twitch payment isn’t coming in until the middle of the month and his bank account is going to overdraw because of all his bills...
Also no tip goals, just total tips....

You know, the whole idea of Phil "begging harder" is strange. Does he really not realize that there are only like 5 people who give to him, and they only have finite amounts of cash to waste? You can squeeze them a little, but it's not like you can double your take, no matter how hard you beg. He needs to actually grow his channel if he wants more money.

He's said many times that he just wants to keep what he has, and I think there's a kernel of truth there if you take into account that he's including a certain amount of purchasing power that allows him to splurge on whatever frippery that catches his eye. He lives a very soft lifestyle on which he refuses to compromise and so I'm sure he doesn't get nervous until his monthly squeezing doesn't yield the blood he's looking for.

That and, y'know. He's lazy as fuck. What, you expect him to squeeze harder?

Maybe I'm wrong because I'm just a normie 9-5er, but something's always bothered me about DSP's self-imposed schedule.

DSP's "main stream" is his first one. He starts around 11 am PDT (2 pm PDT) and goes like 4-5 hours depending on the prestream.

Shouldn't his first stream be the "chill stream" and his second one be the main stream? Shouldn't DSP's main stream start around 4 pm or 5 pm Pacific (7 or 8 pm Eastern) so that all the people that actually have money to donate can watch?

Also, DSP's second stream starts at 10 pm Eastern. Maybe I'm just a cranky guy, but doesn't that eliminate most of this East Coast viewers?

Haven't we seen examples of DSP freaking the fuck out if his audience gets too high? In the video I posted above about UFC3, he ranted against the extra "300 viewers" assuming they were all trolls that came by to watch him look bad. He's done that more than once saying that anything about 500-600 are either viewbots or trolls send by Tevin.

Wasn't there at least one instance where he got a legit hosting so his viewers went close to 1000 and he immediately ended the stream?

You're correct on all counts. When asked about it in the past he's cited his European viewerbase. If I'm not mistaken GMT is eight hours past US Pacific. That'd put the start of his main stream around prime time. Whether or not Article 13 and his spergery surrounding it will overcome his schedule autism remains to be seen.

True but at some point they will either move on or just have enough supporting him. It's a repeating cycle in his life, he gets a few supporters who financially coddle him, eventually they grow up or wise up. I wanna agree that he should branch out and grow his audience, I genuinely have never seen a streamer so against growth. But lets be honest, what he's doing is working for him. I don't know how but every so often someone just pops up and drops a wad of cash in his fat doughy lap. In his mind he's winning. If being in crippling debt and begging for scraps is winning anyway.

Yeah, his last birthday stream. Cry dropped a 2k host on him and Dave pretty much ran away. It was close to "clocking off" time, but you'd think with that many new eyes on him he'd stick around longer. Especially considering he had, I think, a $2,000 goal of which I think he made $300ish. I've seen streamers before about to wrap up but then get a host, sometimes far less than 2k and stick around at least another hour or 2. I think even Dave knew outside viewers would immediately call his bullshit, so he ran.

"some things are more important than money. Real talk."

Makes me lul everytime. Desperate for money, runs from potential new money. Something doesn't add up.

and that reason is "taxes" but will most likely be a surround system so he can better play the games and do better!

for real. youd have to be more of an idiot than someone with downies to give phil money and be a fan of him. noone is more gullible than phils fans

It’s clear to me that Phil’s paypigs will continue to give him money regardless of his behavior. It is in their nature and no amount of proselytizing by the detractor faithful will dissuade them from this course. The threat of public shaming has worked in the past (e.g., Jezal) but such exceptional endeavors themselves border on lolcowdom, and recent paypigs have neutralized this threat by donating large sums anonymously. So what can realistically derail Phil’s gravy train? I see three options:

1. Twitch bans Phil. Unlikely, given Phil being on his bestest, most pahsative behavior and Twitch willing to overlook any infractions so long as the bits keep flowing.

2. A change to copyright enforcement. Phil’s content is essentially the content, in its entirety, of a video game. Does this content theft hurt sales of video games like it would the sales of music, books, or movies? I can’t say.

3. Legislation, or the threat of it, would effectively starve the beast. Imagine a law restricting children from forking over their allowances to e-beggars, or disabled / unemployed adults from signing over their government assistance to Twitch. Phil would rail against it; the prestreams would be hilarious. It’s almost certain to come, though. We’re just waiting for the high profile incident on Twitch to precipitate it; a 9/11 moment if you will. Controversial streamers like Phil will likely be purged straightaway in the hours / days after said incident when big news outlets direct their attention to Twitch.

I know I’ve expressed these ideas before on this forum, but the DSP news cycle has been so slow and dry as of late. I guess it’s just a kind of exceptional wish fulfillment on my part.

So the "pro level" fighting game player is angry that tactics which work against the AI don't work against a human? Isn't that the case with pretty much every game ever?
