Horrorcow Susan Schofield Cabana, Cory Cabana, & Michael Schofield / Schofield Productions / @bipolarnation - A Tragicomic Tale of Psychiatric Munchausen's by Proxy

I remain cautiously optimistic, but am looking forward to their assessment and detoxes.
It seems like CPS actually have their shit together and planned for all this, but I'm sure even the most well executed plan is it's own shitshow.

I hope to whatever diety there is that Susan is not given a second chance, or offered parenting classes, etc. Or if she is, they still deem her unfit to be a parent in the end. That's my biggest concern right now.

I dont want to ruin the excitement but I can't stop thinking about the poor doggo and beardie. I dont expect for them to have gotten out too, but I really hope they did...

Petition for me or Ido to adopt the animals!

There was some salt about Michael not being in LA lickity split, but since the court date isnt until Wednesday, I wonder if it wouldn't make sense for him to invest some hours between now and then making travel arrangements, and more importantly, arranging legal representation. Can our leak comment on this possibility?

I don’t think anyone expected Mike to be in LA while his wife was having a c-section. To be clear DCFS purposely removed the kids because they knew Mike wouldn’t be able to go to LA immediately to contest anything. While at first the removal might have appeared bad timing, but in fact it was very precise timing.

Obviously DCFS has concerns about Mike as a caretaker for the kids. Remember technically both Susan and Mike has custody,Mike just couldn’t be with them often due to living in Minn.

I’m hazy on how these details would play out so I don’t know if the DCFS warrant would remove them from both custodial parents or just Susan. They wanted to remove them so that Mike couldn’t turn up and take them home with him. If he has to go to court now he would have to show he’s fit to take on their care, which given their medical needs at the moment is probably daunting. Well it is daunting because there is a life time of medical abuse to try and help them recover from.

Protecting them from further medical abuse would be a top priority so they probabl want to be sure Mike doesn’t have another book and TV appearances about schizo Jani planned.

Mother Loses Custody

Here is the article I just posted. I reached out to Susan for confirmation - but she did not respond. I also reached out to Cory's daughter -but nothing.
Nice article and can I say it's so weird seeing us mentioned in an article where we're not painted as the most vile thing to exist on the internet. I'm also in complete agreement with everyone saying the less Mike's around now the less he can fuck up, my mom worked in special ed most my life and even fostered kids with special needs I've seen teenagers detox off meds far far less intense than what they've been on and it's not pretty.

You aren't all vile ;) And no matter what - everyone here wants these kids to be safe and away from Susan

I think that the kids being medically observed and treated while detoxing them is the absolute best place/situation for them to be in. They can't move forward with treatment until they get a true diagnosis for them. After that is determined, then perhaps Jani could live with Michael and Bodhi (who will probably need more care/therapy, etc) can live in a group home near them, where they can visit often and take him home for visits. Who knows, I'm just glad that they are away from Susan and Cory right now!

Who knew pissing off a ratings junkie and the head of CPS on national TV was a thing? I am glad to hear this happened. I am surprised nobody gave further credit to CPS also plotting this out when most of Minn has heavy storm warnings and MSP (airport) was close to being closed last I checked. Yup, the godfather has a Cobra weather control device too Susan you fucking bitch! cope with it!
My feelings on Cory are he will stick around for a minute, simply hoping that someone goofed, and they can sue the system for 80 gazillion dollars. Guess what Cory- ain't happening if that's what you hope. You and your Beef Jerky stick harpy pissed off Dr. Phil, whom I don't like, but he HAS to maintain the image of giving a shit, and I think you triggered him. Well done.

I highly doubt Micheal was EVER in the real running for the kids being sent to him, and I am surprised nobody mentioned his damned manifesto that he profited from. Behaviors don't change after a certain age unless something really really radical happens. And I just don't see it- even the "parental" feel is now sated by the new baby. So if all of this is true, since it was highly public I think we can expect the kids to get an actual diagnosis. And since Sophy sorta put it on the line on national TV, I think due diligence will be done.
Now, everything we have said here about her not getting them back....well my belief is this- She's still DONE as far as her previously scheduled program. She may get them back but the attention on this one will not wane as quickly as some no named no drama gomer. She wanted attention she now has it.

My bet- They will check out the kids, establish baseline. If what we all know to be true IS true, I think they will investigate the motherfuckers who allowed Thorazine to be put anywhere NEAR her hand. And since she acknowledges she doctor shopped to find a pill pusher, Maybe they DO bother with charges for child endangerment at least (I would think real charges for whomever finally made the misdiagnosis and loss of licence will follow, but IDK)

You said Susie the system is corrupt and for profit? sometimes, but my father taught me one thing- Don't go thumbing your nose at that system cause they can, will, and DO have the power to fuck you up. you aren't innocent so you made it simple lol.

This is a great way to wake up.

I've seen a few posts speculating as to their conditions in the shelter, as well as the likelihood of Susan regaining custody. I have a good understanding of the child welfare system, so thought I'd add my input.

The chance they'll be returned to Susan right away is very low. I was curious, so I looked up some statistics on this. For foster kids in California, the average amount of time spent in the system before they're reunified with the parents is 16 months. Only about 1/3 are returned to their parents within one year. So, even if they end up having a relatively "short" stay, there's a very good chance that Susan won't get her hands on them for at least a few months. Not to mention, once a child is removed from the home, Child Services must immediately file with the courts so that the abuse can be investigated. This process will take a couple of weeks, at the very least.

As for their current living conditions, I can guarantee they are in much better shape than they were at home. "Shelters" for children are much, much different than those for adults. They have to operate under very strict standards in accordance with the state, and most child shelters have extensive psychiatric care available.

Also, I did a little bit of digging into foster parent requirements for California, and CA frequently utilizes something called therapeutic foster care. Basically, if a child is taken into custody and determined to have serious emotional disturbances, the state will only allow the children to be placed with foster parents who submit to an extensive training program. They're monitored with much more scrutiny than regular foster parents, and they have to check-in regularly with a mental health team, who will help the foster parents to get the kid's mental illness treated properly.

So, basically, even though there are lots of horror stories about the Child Welfare system, I'm pretty optimistic about this turn of events tbh. Susan likely won't have access to them for a few months, the shelter they're staying in probably has extensive psychiatric care, and there's a very good chance that any foster parents who care for them will be much more stable and compassionate than Susan & Cory.

I like that we can actually pinpoint the time CPS came in on a rescue mission: she made 2 back to back posts on Facebook once Paris arrived at 6 am. But before she could settle into her mentions for the day while the kids were being bathed for her before school, a knock arrived on the door between 6:33 and 7 am. You can be sure she sighed and switched on her phone camera smugly, ready to pretend to be a loving Mama Bear for her kids again, who just wants help! Are you here to help? We need new doctors! It's all that mean old doctor's fault! Her face dropped abruptly as the usual single CPS caseworker and maybe one officer, was instead 4-5 case workers and a whole passel of officers. She and Cory were told to remain calm and go stand against a wall; were there any other adults in the home, where were the kids, etc. I'd bet cash Cory started losing his temper before pretending surprised compliance, and that he ignored her after they left. She's going to go crazy, but he's not interested any more. Susan was ready to argue, flail and run circles around the workers like usual, but the kids were gone out the door before she even managed to get 5 words in edgewise. She would have received papers explaining what was happening, and the bare minimum of what they were legally obligated to give her for information. They would have made a point to tell her, point blank, that if she attempted to use her social media to call down a PA on the agency who removed her kids, her chances of getting the kids back turned to 0. She won't have heard this, but Cory would have. We will know when Cory bails, because that will be when he doesn't care enough to stop forcing her from posting anywhere she can about this. Susan was left "alone" in a room with her husband, respite worker, and two bathing attendants, unless they were having their names taken down to later give evidence. Paris and Carlos will sing faster than anyone; they were in this for the easy cash, they dont want trouble. They left hoping their next assignment would be just as cushy, although maybe without the endless screeching next time. And Susan was alone with only her husband, who probably walked out without a word to drive around and consider his options.

I can't really add anything of value besides my autistic mind's eye view of how this may have went down, having followed this case closely from the moment Susan reappeared bent on a second 15 minutes of fame with her YouTube channel in the summer of 2017.

That’s good to hear. I believe 16 months would make Jani an adult and she could choose to live with real Dad or in an assisted living facility. I think Bodhi will likely be institutionalized for the remainder of his life. In any case, both of the kids need to be under the system’s care for an extended period.
Yeah, so, when someone turns 18 while in foster care, it's called "aging out" of the system. If she turns 18 in Susan's care, I'm sure that she would make it very, very difficult for Jani to get away from her, even if she is legally an adult. But if Jani is being kept in the system, there are a lot of special programs and resources specifically for foster youth in that age range, and I imagine it will actually be much easier for her to move on with her life than if she's kept with Susan.

I'm confused...in my state, adults with developmental disabilities get a court appointed guardian. Can Susan actually regain custody once Jani is 18? Wouldn't she have to apply for legal guardianship?
