It will take time. First the kids will need to be evaluated for abuse/MBP and have some final report sent to DCFS, then to the cops, then to the DA. It could take months for arrests and a lot of people would have to sign off on moving forward with criminal charges. I work in the legal field and have seen people charged months or even years after the fact. Prosecutors want their cases as solid as can be before moving on them.

It really just depends on how fast they want to move. I've seen it happen in just a weekend, kid eval'd on a friday and cops came knocking on monday morning. But in this case I think you are correct that it might take more time since the abuse is so extensive. The doctors will def need some time to get them off meds and see what they are really dealing with. Which is actually ok because it might lull Cory and Susan into false hope etc.

As for if he stays with Susan, def not gonna happen as soon as it becomes clear to him that the kids arent coming back and the money is gone, he's ditching and going to be singing a tune of Susan tricking him. Perfect karma for him is to be stuck homeless in CA and then eventually get stuck further in CA due to criminal charges and go to jail there. He HATES Cali with a passion so he doesnt deserve to get to be happy back in WA. He can rot in CA.

There is a good chance for that. This story was picked up after the mother was arrested for abuse after appearing on Dr. Phil... and she isn’t someone nearly as well known as Susan.

I’m 50/50 on Bodhi’s potential. By the time he was born the munchie show was in full swing and Susan was a pro at getting the drugs to debilitate her kids. Bodhi started getting walloped with drugs so early in his development it’s tragic.

His potential may not be 100%, but off meds fully detoxed he is still young enough for his brain to have the neuroplasticity needed to gain skills. He'd probably do wonders in a restidential autism program that caters the entire day to ABA therapy and other skills.

Idk she has lived in WA forever and he didn't go stay with her. I know she gives him money hand outs at times but that seems to be the extent of her help. I don't talk to her much because she's a raging narcissistic bitch. Yeah that pretty much sums her up really. I've messaged her but I don't see the convo going too great considering the last time she spoke to me she accused my husband of being abusive to me because I don't agree with her/Cory's political views. I was curious about California's specific child removal laws, and hooooo boy, is Susan in for a fun ride.

So, as a federal rule, Child Services has to prioritize reunification over any other option for the children, meaning Child Services has to make a reasonable effort to help the parent become capable of regaining custody. Usually, this means they need to go to parenting classes, see a psychologist, stay off drugs, whatever. However, there are a few circumstances in which the court is allowed to seek permanent removal from the parent. In California, one such condition is mental disability.

If the court does decide to go this route, Susan would have to prove she is mentally stable, and she would have to pass the court's standards. She doesn't get to pick her doctors. The court gets to pick two professionals to evaluate her. Each professional will either be a psychiatrist, a neurologist, or a doctor of psychology with at least five years of doctoral practice.

took basically 660 pages and 2 years of hardcore evidence for someone to finally do something-- and that's only because she was brought to attention in a national television way.

God, that is some bullshit, but I'm glad it finally happened.

After months of saying there was nothing they can do, DCFS abruptly got a warrant and pulled Jani and Bodhi from Susan and Cory, right at the same time Michael was with Amy who was giving birth via c section. Unfortunately, it appears that DCFS didn't think this through very well and for obvious reasons Michael can't get to LA to get them right now. They were originally placed with foster care but something went wrong and the foster mother rejected both kids, who are now spending the weekend in a shelter. Because Michael couldn't come get them today, he is considered to have abandoned them. Court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. That's all I know so far.

Man, I don’t have anything witty or insightful to say. Just those poor, poor children. I can’t imagine how traumatic that experience must be for them. I know they’re better off out of Susan’s grasp, but I just hope the foster care system doesn’t fuck them up even more. I hope they’re placed with loving, caring, responsible adults who are prepared to help them heal after a lifetime of abuse. That’s what these kids deserve after being betrayed and used by the person who was meant to protect them. I know I’m being hella optimistic, but I just don’t want these kids to be destroyed for the rest of their lives.

I'm %100 grateful the kids are getting help and hope they are on the right path to being happy, healthy, and comfortable. The pearl clutching and wishing malevolence on the parents is ridiculous. Ever think about what that does to Jani and Bodhi? Regardless, they are still their parents.
