Containment Random Chris Updates

lol, these are probably my favourite moments. When someone makes a obviously lie, but they appease Chris's ego so he completely falls for it.
Like, when he thought he won 'Lesbian of the Year' and there was a $2,000 check on the way.
I wish these would happen more often...

I guess if good things happened all the time they wouldn't be good anymore.

@fiu0cm could I respectfully request analytics on how often he uses the word "literally" in its correct context? Like, let's say even just the last 10 times he used it. Because I'm fairly confident that what just happened here was a unicorn.
I'm assuming that by "correct" you mean according to the formal definition. From the sample of his tweets I have, he uses "literal" or "literally" correctly 27 out of 28 times, but it's usually in the context of his cartoon world. It's not factually correct, but it's grammatically and semantically correct.

Based on the pictures, it looks like Chris spent a lot of money on Pokemon Go.
omg I only just noticed his character is wearing the same stupid clothes he puts on all his drawings and Lego avatars of himself. (white shirt, blue skirt, purple stockings)
Did he spend a bunch of money on micro transaction just so he could wear the same clothes in game??

I rather him play with vidya then playing with My Little Pony or Transformers toys tbh.
I think Chris might even spend more money on those than video games.
Hey, it’s a semi-productive activity that doesn’t take up much room.

Pkmn Go is hilarious with microtransactions, stuff like plain old boring regular jeans for your avatar to wear is locked to real money purchases. That said his outfit looks like stuff you don't have to pay to wear. Still, this is the guy that blew 2k or more in that one Simpsons app where you did nothing but tap, if it comes to paying for balls or walking to some stops to get more for free he'll probably pay.

The funniest part for me is that Pokemon Go for many people was the closest they could get yet to the real thing of going out and catching critters that they've dreamed of since childhood, and here we have a super fan of Pokemon, who credits it with all his creativeness, and it took getting a switch for free for him to try the stupid game out. I bet if the switch didn't link somehow to the phone app he wouldn't even bother.

Post your friend code, Chris

I feel like Chris' relationship with Pokemon isn't anywhere near as strong as it was, 10 years ago. I don't think he's played any of the games past I'd say... maybe Heartgold/Soulsilver, which was about 2010. I've never heard him bring up anything Pokemon-related past Gen 4, and he's never incorporated any modern Pokemon lore into his comics. It's always the older stuff. To me, it kinda felt like when it came to series, Sonic was his go-to on what to flip out about.
Not saying he's completely done with Pokemon (He's married to Mewtwo), I'm just not sure if he's as big of a superfan as he once was.

1st lost on the CWC side of the lolcow nuthouse and was compelled to comeoever to post something up on a thread similar to the “media mentions of DSP” thread but this seems even more disjointed that the DSP subforum. Not sure if I’m missing it or it doesn’t exist but anyway I was watching a video in which Chris gets a little cameo that I thought might be worth sharing.
https://youtu.be/qwYCQEpwJ5o @9:00 mark, feel free to shower with autism rating for putting this is in the wrong place or if it’s been posted before. Tbh I can only handle on cows deep lore at a time.

The code is on page 9(?) of the switch thread.

This is the most coherent tweet we've seen from Chris in years. Still can't help but notice the phrasing "everyone of this world". This merge shit will never die.

I was thinking about this and refreshed my memory and Chris was banned from The GAMe PLACe in mid 2008. I feel like the Pokemon card game was Chris' medium of choice and after he was banned from the only place he played I guess it makes sense his interest for it would eventually drop off.

That's a good point. Then again, as a counter argument he went to the End Games from late 2015 to early 2018, before he got banned from there too. In some of the images of Chris there, you can see one of the Pokemon TCG sets, which came out last year. He probably picked the TCG back up when he started going there. Come to think of it, besides making fake cards in the early 2000's, he only really cared for the TCG when he'd go to the hobby shops. He probably still buys them from time-to-time cuz hoarding.

I don't know if the "everyone of this world" is related to merge bullshit or if he is just unaware that DST doesn't start on the same day in everywhere. (Like it happening at the end of march in Europe)
I'm pretty sure the "this world" is the merge shit, and the "who observes it" is recognition that not everywhere has a time change, not that some places change on a different day.

He's played Sun and Moon for sure; he mentions owning both games in this video. He also bought that stupid plastic Z-Ring toy they made for those games and wore it as an accessory for quite a while back in '16-'17, and he even bought the soundtracks, so I think he's still a bigger fan of the series than anyone his age really ought to be. That said, I think his current preferred franchises are Hyperdimension Neptunia and MLP, given the importance those have to his dimensional-merge delusions, which is why we haven't heard anything much about Pokemon for the last year or so. As others were saying, it probably doesn't help that he's been banned from anywhere that he could play the card game with other people.
