He's played Sun and Moon for sure; he mentions owning both games in this video. He also bought that stupid plastic Z-Ring toy they made for those games and wore it as an accessory for quite a while back in '16-'17, and he even bought the soundtracks, so I think he's still a bigger fan of the series than anyone his age really ought to be. That said, I think his current preferred franchises are Hyperdimension Neptunia and MLP, given the importance those have to his dimensional-merge delusions, which is why we haven't heard anything much about Pokemon for the last year or so. As others were saying, it probably doesn't help that he's been banned from anywhere that he could play the card game with other people.

Yup. It sounds like he was trying to do a Nuzlocke run after having already beaten the game, and he was essentially just posting a bare-bones recap of his playthrough until he was interrupted by a minor inconvenience in the form of his house catching fire. He also posted his 3DS friend code a few times to try and get people to add him for the Pokemon Safari in that game.
