I guess he's tracing that, too.Just like Dobson probably
Detective Boy Conan
I’m guessing it was a show he saw before he considered anime mainstream and much like his fedora will forever be annoyed that anime inspired western art became a cliche and not something unique to him.I’m shocked that he’s into Meitantei Conan.
So you're saying Dobsoy is a hipster?annoyed that anime inspired western art became a cliche and not something unique to him.

I think that’s why he considers himself as a LGBT Ally because it’s the new edgy shit.God, you remind me of how much Dobson reminds me of those edgelords you saw in middle school. They always thought that by being "honest" (an asshole), and being contrarian to everyone else's opinion's that they were somehow cooler than everyone else. When in reality, people thought they were jerks and could give less of a fuck.
Also, his shading is awful. I know a bunch of early to mid 2000's work used that type of shading, but by even that point it was starting to get old.
If there are two things that makes Dobson’s Chode turtle out from between his fat rolls, it’s underaged lesbians, and the chance to disagree with someone over something ridiculously trivial. He does like to be a contrarian:

One of his motivations is to be noticed by the SJW elite and praised for being woke. I'm not sure what he thinks he would gain from that, if it ever happened. Certainly not money or job offers in a professional field (such as animation or comics). I'm almost convinced he sees it as a shortcut to fame and fortune, but the odds are simply not in his favor. Even if he had actual talent and a work ethic, a retweet by @WokeLezz or @DicklessSmith or whoever isn't worth a whole hell of a lot in the long run. All I can think of is that he has a desperate need for that kind of validation, but that kind of fame is fleeting. I can see him ten years from now, still bragging about that time the famous SJW retweeted him, despite still being the failure he is today only ten years older.
Not that today is much better, but Dobson's coloring during his brown phase was especially bad. Mario games have been very colorful since Super Mario Bros. 3, something the series is famous for. Even when other companies were on board the "real is brown" fad the Mario games did not steer away from this. Yet for a time Dobson believed that for art vibrant colors were bad and muting everything with brown was better. There's also the way the coloring is done where it looks like everything has a layer of dirt covering them
He did some actual ink drawings for Inktober several years back. I don't think he actually did an illustration every day but the ones that he made (that weren't traced) were pretty nice. People commented that and his reaction was super weird, he was almost offended that people were so into his traditional drawings over his usual stuff. As for other traditional media, I've wondered that too. He has mentioned in a comic not being able to paint well, and a looooong time ago he wrote a journal about how he went to a life drawing session somewhere and was working with traditional media. He also noted things that he didn't do well and mentioned ways he could improve, so that was probably a short apperance of alternate universe Dobson.Has Dobson done any traditional artwork? (I.e. Illustration with water colors?)
You would have to have severe shaking on par with Parkinson's to be unable to do life drawing sketches and painting. Pencil and ink would be a lot more obvious for even mild shaking, but if you truly loved the medium that wouldn't stop you. It's just Dobson's typical excuses for why he doesn't want to do something because he wasn't instantly great at it.IIRC, Dobson claims (key word there) that his hand shakes, preventing him from using traditional media because he can't hit "undo" or take advantage of the automatic line correction features in digital software.
