He don't care. He got the clicks.

I am concerned that Japan has a Gender Studies in their universities, though. Why can't they be like Hungary and say, "笑いいえ"*.

*Google translate, but it should be "lol no"

I am not sure. Hungary has always prided itself on defiance. To turks, Habsburgs, commies, now the eu. Its a hat as they say, a coping mechanism bred by foreign invasion after invasion spiced with occupation.

It is a national trait. "In spite against all° it shall be so." Is a local saying and °all refers to the whole world.
Defiance is seen as a virtue, for we are always in the right, politically and morally. We have no guilt, for anything is justified when the whole world has been out to get you for centuries. Deus lo Vult, as weebs say.

But I am not sure Japan feels like this. Are they without guilt, fully sure that their cause is just and true? Japan was always more rule bound, more "proper". Maybe they care more about their image, where we gleefully ignore it.

We prefer infamy to obscurity, but do they?

I had a buddy from college who lived in an eastern European country for a while. I was talking to her a while back and somehow the conversation came to discussing the English-language media over there. She said that the newspapers were written as if Anglophone ex-pats were the audience, but in reality the majority of the people buying the papers were English students. Like a class would buy a paper for each student and tell them to pick out an article and give a two-minute speech summarizing it or that sort of thing. I suspect the same thing is true for the Japan Times.

Tard cum shall flow in ONE hour!

All personnel, prepare to receive tard cum.

Archived some more shit, mostly what's already been posted in this thread. I echo the sentiment that we need to archive fucking everything.

Yeah, not gonna click on that. No one is going to care in a few days anyway, especially since as we all know, no one can verify shit about Vic Mignogna's sexual harassment claim.

Gonna chime in on this one. Archive Fucking Everything. I will admit to viewing that statement as kind of an inside joke, but then I saw Allison deleting shit in real time. And she had admitted to deleting stuff earlier before we really started tearing into her info. Stuff that might seem innocuous at first may prove useful later as things go on.

It's been a rumour for over a decade that Vic is creepy. I find it weird so many people are defending him.
Being creepy isn't a crime, I know, just fwiw I don't really believe he is innocent.

I'm defending him because of the conventions, Funimation and Rooster Teeth caving in to him. Being creepy/weird isn't a crime. Sexual assault is. But the allegations are unsubstantiated and will absolutely be slaughtered in a courtroom as a result of Defense by Truth.

To be honest, I think most people in this are choosing sides based on who they already know they hate, rather than who they know they like. If you don't like either of them, then it pretty much becomes a story of some idiots fucking up the dismissal of that one guy no one wants to deal with, and that's not as fun to follow.

By the way, is there a way to archive protected twitter accounts? A lot of kickvic supporters have gone into that mode since the lawsuits start jumping in.

I have always found it strange how people deify voice actors, especially Vic in particular. FMA is old as shit. Broly is a popular character and all but he's kind of a potato personality wise (though I haven't seen the new movie, so maybe he has some personality now). He's not Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin or long time beloved character. Why does Vic disproportionately get so much attention? He's been at almost every con I go to, everyone has seen him, he is nothing special? I really don't get it. I imagine it has a lot to do with self-promotion.
Most VAs are awful, aside from any political stuff, but just at doing their jobs. Most of the women are screechy as fuck. The translations are cringy, and now they're shoving in political nonsense too? What a disaster.

The problem is people watching dubs and, apparently, enjoying them, and treating the VAs as celebrities and like the actual characters. I can't believe Funimation is even still around as a company. This is why I only watch the original series in Nipponese, so I can hear my waifus' voices just as kami-sama intended.

Speaking just for myself, Vic is a representation of something I feel has gone horrendously wrong in our society. Trial by Twitter. Or even more sinister, trial by Title 9 courts and "Human Rights Commissions". I view these things as existential threats to our society. Not just as a challenge to the authority of the State, but also to our ability to function as human beings out in the world. The idea that someone could have their life ruined simply because people brigaded a tweet from an angry girl who IMO was simply doing the Stacey routine and spreading rumor by presenting facts in the most negative light possible. That that alone be sufficient to damn someone is terrifying. It turns our entire system of justice into a middle school cafeteria, and makes the mean girls and their hangers on judge, jury and executioner.

I want evidence. If Vic truly is as horrible as is claimed, then PROVE IT. Don't just say things and expect me to listen and believe. I don't know you. I don't know vic. And because of that I have to err on the side of Innocence, because our society can never function if our default assumption is people are guilty of what the person who hates them most says about them. That's how they did shit in the USSR and East Germany. It did not work out great for them.

Actually, there's an group in Japan that wants to do some pretty radical right-wing shit, and the Prime Minister is a member of it. It's called Nippon Kaigi.

The Prime Minister is also the same one that has been putting the screws on Japan Times.

Hero_Hei sounds like he's being autistic. I hope he's doing it just for clicks like the rest of them.

Don't forget there's also Agnes Chan, a Chinese SJW that was involved in some bullshit in Japan. I forget what bullshit she was up to exactly, but I do know if involved creating a fake version of UNICEF to trick people into giving her money. (Edit: Agnes not Alice.)

"Won't you evil manga artists start thinking of the human rights of your female characters" or somesuch, IIRC?

Edit: Other SJW stuff in Japan...

I remember some SJWs losing their shit over a recent upsurge in interest in the Anju in Japan. Anju are basically the Japanese (and Russian IIRC?) equivalent of Native Americans, as awkward as that sounds. Kanna Kamui in Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is based on an Anju deity and wears Anju inspired clothing. And is adorable. This entailed the standard "I'm going to be offended on the poor retarded Anjus' behalf" from SJW types, which resulted in a few Anju people coming forward and saying "See? This shit right here is why I don't tell people I'm Anju."

There was one of those light novel things that was on the upswing, about to get an anime, had a manga, et cetera -- New Life+: Young Again in Another World. This is one of your standard "I died and the afterlife looks just like a RPG" things, but this one's claim to fame is the main character died of old age and was a retired vet in his life on Earth.

SJWs in Japan did the math and realized that the main character was probably a WW2 vet and mentioned having killed a few thousand people during the war -- which would mean he killed thousands of Chinese people. OH NOES! The author also apparently posted some shit back in 2013 that basically was something akin to "Man, Fuck China, and Fuck South Korea." Neither are particularly shocking for, er, Japan, but it was enough of a scandal to get his book unpublished, his online novel version of the book removed and canceled, him completely unpersoned across all social media, the anime canceled after the JP VAs all quit in protest (virtue signalling), and the US license of the novel revoked.

Both this and Agnes involve Chinese influences in Japan, so who knows if the rumor that SJWs and Intersectionality comes from literal Communist indoctrination as an attempt to weaken targeted countries is true or not. (It is.)

This entire fiasco is pretty entertaining to watch in the sidelines, though. I am curious as to what the next event becomes.

Yeah, but was it actually a "rumor for over a decade" last year?

That's what seems so weird in all of this. They keep repeating "It's been a rumor for years!" But all you can find on social media prior to late 2018 is comments about him being a Christian and Homophobic. No mention of him being a Creepy Sex pest until post #metoo and Kavanaugh showed a game plan on how to end somebody you didn't like.

Not just that but if the twitter trials were to continue could lead to some Killdozer/YT HQ shooting level of stuff. I mean if you can't seek justice/tell your side in the courts some might take their justice by their own hands.

We're either a country of laws or we aren't, and I, for one, am not willing to flush the 8th amendment for the sake of some retarded outrage-mongers who, if they succeed with this, will simply use the exact same tactic on someone else. This shit needs to end.

The dark comedy of it all is the push by these people to do away with due process and the presumption of innocence is a literal wish upon the monkeys paw. They will get what they asked for, and the people they hate the most will happily use the power they have serendiptously been granted to do away with them. We have these protections for a reason. Not to prop up a patriarchy and rape culture, but to restrain the very worst impulses of human nature.

Rumor about being creepy is not evidence. Especially if it may have been started because he did not sign pedo yaoi.

Seriously tho, I feel vic should have just sign the stupid yaoi art so the girl didn't go on a rant twitter hate that started off this whole mess.

Edit: OK I get it, I was happy to be corrected on.
