Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It's a bizarre, cult-like attention feedback loop, where they're literally rewarding each other for how stupid they can be. It's funny to watch because most people wouldn't do things like this in public, but they're used to being able to just click block on realities that they don't like.

I don't think they're aware how ridiculous they are and that they're actually rivaling sovereign citizens for just how shockingly dumb it is possible to be about the law. Dumb druggies who think cops have to tell you they're undercover cops if you ask them have nothing on these idiots.

The look of bafflement on the Amazon’s faces when they encountered this bizarre cult of Social Media NPC’s really said it all. The Amazon’s had never seen anyone so unable to grasp basic realities that they literally would not stop feeding them discovery every minute of every day. Even when advised to stop.

I think they are more akin to the dumb druggies to go to the cops to complain that their dealer ripped them off, or somebody stole their weed. “Everybody knows Vic is creepy so we’ve banded together to get him fired and blacklisted from everyplace!” “You do realize that’s illegal, right?” “But we think he’s creepy! Listen and Believe is the Law!!!”

Going through Nick's old videos, currently skimming the ComicsGate stuff. I shouldn't be, but I'm shocked at how similar the narrative, response, and idiocy from the "left side" of all of this are. I can't believe how much the things Shane was saying sounded just like Waid's lawyer Zaid, going on about conspiracy and thinking that ridiculing someone on Twitter or Facebook (and failing just as miserably at that) is the way to go. Further proof that NPCs are real and their programming needs updating.

If you go back to Gamergate you see the same exact patterns and phrases and claims. It really is remarkable. They only have one very shallow script that they run over and over in a never ending loop. I figure we are about due for “anime fans don’t have to be your audience, you can find a new better audience! A more Woke progressive and inclusive audience... with no white men!” Some variant of that shows up in every single one of these little controversies. Without fail.

So... I figured I'd share these gems right here, since we've got another Anituber speaking out of their ass.

Here's some choice quotes:

"The propaganda mill is spinning at full speed, & all of the propaganda is on their side, not on ours. "

"It's frankly, the Gamergate formula, and you'd best believe all many of them are trying to launch "animegate" with this. "

"The latent right wing throughout the anitube community that Ive discussed before are being brought out by this event, & when plenty of their content consists of rambling unscripted over an image of a tweet after admitting they dont know anything about politics, the vids come fast "

"It sounds like I'm building towards some sage call to action but unfortunately I don't have much in the way of answers on this one. "

So, you decide to demonize everyone on the standwithvic side, call them right wing, claim that they're the only ones who are spreading propaganda... And don't have the spine to actually speak up with anything?

Oh, and side note, this is the gal who compared the Goblins in Goblin Slayer were jews.

Oh and said this:

Thoughts?

Oh, and by the way, fun little thing, Pedantic here doesn't wanna be attacked for saying this. Unfortunately, if you make a public proclamation, you're gonna get this:

The fact that Vic has one lawyer of record, Ty Beard, and another highly public lawyer who is not his lawyer but is a vocal proponent of his position, and this asshole talked to neither of them, shows what completely fake news he's putting out.

I'll actually cut him some slack about not talking to Nick, but not talking to Ty is just bad fucking journalism by any reasonable standard. Despite all the obfuscating they've tried to do, it's irrefutable that Ty is Vic's attorney that is now directly handling this matter.

Digibrony's bitch has nothing original to say and can't even come up with some woke rallying cry or something? Color me shocked

It seems some Anime News Network's employees got a little burst of energy from helping shape The Japan Times article. Here's a little spiel by Nick Creamer. Note that this is the same guy who flipped out and went hard at Shield Hero for the 'false rape accusation' plotline and became a huge meme on other anime websites.

These people sure do love using 'right-wing' as an insult, don't they? They say no evidence will change the YouTubers minds despite the fact they've clearly states they'll change their mind if evidence does pop up during discovery. This guy is upset that 'listen and believe' isn't being counted as credible evidence.

It might be worth it to send this to Beard/Nick if they're deciding to go after AnimeNewsNetwork since they're still going off on Twitter about it, and they might have gotten one of those retract-your-statement letters already and are willfully ignoring it. Can anyone get this to them?

Funny how this idiot cannot name any specific "propoganda" or "lies"
We can point out all day how they stole photos of women and lied about it, or how they took video and edited out the context, or how they harshly misrepresented the number of victims they spew
Yet all they can seem to push back with is "NU-UH, UR ACTUALLY THE LIARS" without ever naming any specific instances

I wasn't saying that would be as good, since Ty is obviously the person to talk to if you legitimately want the other side to have any input at all. Just that it would have been at least excusable and shown the bare minimum of effort to talk to fucking anyone at all on the other side, even if it was Nick (and Nick would have told you to talk to Ty too).

There isn't an argument with two sides - Vic just has a lot of young fans who don't know how adult business work

This is one of the worst arguments you could possibly make about this whole situation.

Never mind the fact that some of those "adult businesses" putting out articles showcasing photos of Vic inappropriately touching fans. And what did his "young fans," the Risembool Rangers, do in response? Oh that's right. They did some actual research to point out how many of those photos were used completely out of context, and had said photos redacted from the articles.

But yeah, what do they know? They're just too young to understand what's going on!

Seriously, fuck off.

Look at this guy, claiming that no evidence will convince the Vic supporters that Vic is guilty, when his side is full of people who are denying any and all reason and just saying "Vic is guilty and no evidence to the contrary will prove anything".

Question who was the person that started #Istandiwithvic?
Good question. I dunno. It was mentioned pretty early-on in one of the first ANN articles.

Nick essentially started #VicKicksBack with the GFM.
A guy named CY98

I have taken it upon myself to do research on #IStandWithVic as a term.
Here is the History of #IStandWithVic:

1. #IStandWithVic first appeared on Twitter September 20, 2012 by user VibraniumShield @1stAvengerACM (https://archive.fo/u8wbY). The user used it in support of Victor Bermudez, Executive Producer of the University of Miami Hurricanes Radio on Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM, Producer for Telemundo Sport’s program “Boxeo Telemundo,” co-host of the “Out for the Count” Boxing and MMA Podcast on the Five Reasons Sports Network. Why? Twitter argument by users about the Miami Hurricanes. Victor Bermudez then quoted WQAM Programming Coordinator Danny Rabinowitz, who also voiced verbal support using #IStandWithVic. The hashtag was last used by Rabinowitz on April 12, 2014 (https://archive.fo/S7JrV).

2. The hashtag was then appropriated by an Orthodontist at Saddle Creek Orthodontics and Co-Founder at Neon Canvas Dr. Kyle Fagala @MemphisBraces on August 13, 2015 in conversation with some rando named rob wades @BestBurgerEver in support of Vic Berger IV @VicBergerIV (https://archive.fo/Aiijf). Berger trolled Jeb Bush in the 2016 election and has a KnowYourMeme page dedicated to him: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/people/vic-berger-iv

3. Twitter user J-Man Actual (@J_Men_Forever) used the hashtag on June 24, 2016 (http://archive.ph/yf0KM), in support of by Vic Mignogna's statements that thanked the fans for supporting Star Trek Continues (http://archive.ph/cidn5). This first is the first use of the hashtag in reference to Mignogna (Thanks to @Nontransferable for finding this one).

4. Republican Oregon State Representative of House District 25, Bill Post, then used the hashtag on November 1, 2016 in a tweet responding Progressive Twitter page Blue Oregon (https://archive.fo/xUfdv). Post in support of Representative Vic Gilliam of House District 18 (perhaps out of mockery), where Blue Oregon questioned if the campaign was a “bait and switch” with Mike Early: https://www.blueoregon.com/2016/11/classic-bait-and-switch/
(https://archive.fo/dudRC)

5. Phil Braun @playazball used the hashtag on December 21, 2016 (https://archive.fo/tqR6n) in support of Vic Berger IV and linked a Pizzagate article from The Intelligencer against Mike Cernovich (https://archive.fo/4xtDm). Braun is part of an online comedy group called the Playaz:

6. On April 3, 2017, user Marty Alvarez @martyalva21 used the hashtag in a response of support toward Vic “The Brick” Jacobs @vicfeelingyou (https://archive.fo/O12gA). Jacobs is an American radio and television sportscaster. He is best known as a former co-host of The Loose Cannons, a sports radio talk airing nationally on Fox Sports Radio. The Los Angeles Dodgers fanatic apparently battled cancer recently: https://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-vic-the-brick-plaschke-20181201-story.html

7. Once again, the hashtag was used in reference to Vic Berger IV as musician Stounson offered his support on May 31, 2017 (https://archive.fo/ARYYR). Apparently, Stounson sells his single on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/A-Summer-in-Yakima/dp/B075NT4YVN

8. User les garcia @Beserkgatts used the hashtag on December 12, 2017 in support of Victor Oladipo, a basketball player for the Indiana Pacers, dating actress Bria Myles (https://archive.fo/M5b2P). Apparently, rumors circulated that they were dating at the time.

9. User Liset @Krzwyf used the hashtag on February 16, 2018 (https://archive.fo/eNQtz) in support of Alberta politician and real estate agent Vic L. McConought: https://www.vic4alberta.ca/ (https://archive.fo/Tk96Z). McConought used a damp memes reference in a response to Associate Professor Trevor Tombe of the Economics Department at the University of Calgary (https://archive.fo/Gkuau).

10. On April 5, 2018, B101.5 traffic reporter Robert Workman @RWcopter used the hashtag in support of CBS & FOX WTOL11 Traffic Anchor & Journalist Victoria Idoni. (https://archive.fo/G4p6P). Apparently, Idoni lost her blue checkmark (very pathetic). Workman interview: https://www.b1015.com/2015/01/25/robert-workman/ (https://archive.fo/pMnM1) and Idoni’s profile on WTOL 11: http://www.wtol.com/2018/02/26/victoria-idoni/ (https://archive.fo/1kcbZ).

11. User Tonito @tfophotos used the hashtag on October 16, 2018 in support of hip-hop artist Vic Mensa (https://archive.fo/JJqNP). Apparently, Mensa dissed the late XXXTentacion during his BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher.

12. On November 28, 2018, user Timothy Huyer @tim4hire used the hashtag in support of Vic L. McConought while responding to Duke University’s Ryan Calder about health care. (https://archive.fo/kP2kO). Here is Calder’s profile: https://sites.duke.edu/calder/ (https://archive.fo/zJ1yS)

13. Finally, the first instance of the hashtag in reference to Vic Mignogna in Weeb Wars came from BioZero216 @BioZero216 on January 18, 2019 (https://archive.fo/EpyTB).

Honestly, this hashtag gets picked up and dropped like a professional wrestling championship belt.
If that were the case, here is the list of #IStandWithVic Champions:
  1. Victor Bermudez [September 20, 2012 - April 12, 2014] - title vacated
  2. Vic Berger IV [August 13, 2015 - June 24, 2016]
  3. Vic Mignogna [June 24, 2016 - November 1, 2016]
  4. Vic Gilliam [November 1, 2016 - December 21, 2016]
  5. Vic Berger IV [December 21, 2016 - April 3, 2017]
  6. Vic “The Brick” Jacobs [April 3, 2017 - May 31, 2017]
  7. Vic Berger IV [May 31, 2017 - December 12, 2017]
  8. Victor Oladipo [December 12, 2017 - February 16, 2018]
  9. Vic L. McConought [February 16, 2018 - April 5, 2018]
  10. Victoria Idoni [April 5, 2018 - October 16, 2018]
  11. Vic Mensa [October 16, 2018 - November 28, 2018]
  12. Vic L. McConought [November 28, 2018 - January 18, 2019]
  13. Vic Mignogna [January 18, 2019 - present]*
*Unless somebody has used the hashtag already for someone other than Vic Mignogna.

As for Roland Kelts: once I saw he followed Mike Toole on Twitter, I knew he was untrustworthy.

They're using the same patronizing "kid" bullshit that Destructoid did when they got caught with their pants down on the Mauer situation. That also involved a Youtube lawyer (Leonard French).

That didn't work out so well. Mauer got BTFO and Johnathan Holmes doesn't have a job anymore.

@5t3n0g0ph3r: Jesus Christ, dude. That's a hell of an info dump. Salute!

Interesting.

Reminds me how the shortlived #BeThere used to be centered on injured veterans before it got sucked into the Vic drama.

That also involved a Youtube lawyer (Leonard French).
Oh, that's his name. I remember watching a video about the Purple Mattress controversy and I remember a real lawyer talking about the case. I forgot his name though.

I'm just excited for it to be revealed that Monica Rial was fucking Vic and cucking her boyfriend, what a glorious day that'll be. Wew, lying about rape and child molestation to bring down a dude with whom you had an affair. I pray this turns out to be the case, because that would be legendary.

And it'll be a good day for Vic 'Steal Your Chick' Mignogna.

Surprise Surprise, someone calls out Pedantic, not even really insulting them, and they decide to become a condescending A-Hole.

Oh, and side note:

Kickvic had about a month, it's their own damn fault for not utilizing the Youtube platform. Pedantic could've had a call to action... Or talked about it.

But nope.

Hell, Digibro commented it on his second channel.

...

In fact, it's weird, but have there been ANY Pro KickVic vids on youtube? I haven't seen any since that Meepygal video, and that got deleted.

Thoughts?

Waaaaaaah! The weebs got redpilled! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!1!1!1!
