Um, I am not for it.

I have yet to see a wall stop planes from landing in the US.

You are totally for it, if you are against dissuading people from using ports of entry to get documented, you are for all the things that come with people being undocumented and illegal.

You're right, know what stops unidentified planes from landing in the US? Radars and jet fighters. So what you're saying is we should just shoot unidentified people crossing over the border illegally. Hmm bullets are cheaper than a wall now that you put it that way. Hmmmm...you may be onto something here. ?

Ignore him, he's a dumbass. He's the actual definition of a concern troll. And funnily enough, he's doing exactly what liberals accuse conservatives of doing, like saying that since a problem is complex we should just sit on our ass and do nothing.

Death Angel's argument is approximately the Fat Acceptance Movement's position:

"My knees are shot to hell, my kidneys and pancreas are fucked, and I can't breathe at night without a forced-air pump. But instead of actually giving me the treatments I need to fix these, the doctors keep telling me I have to lose weight! Losing weight won't grow me new kidneys! Losing weight won't replace my knees! This is just fatphobia and I demand more comprehensive solutions to my complicated problems, today!"

Really, the parallels are uncanny--including the desperate attention whoring that so many HAES advocates indulge in.

I am not for it undocumented illegals. I am for Border patrol, Coast Guard, and Airport agents, visa upkeep and monitoring, City and county and government officials who do an excellent job. With or without a barrier.

Our new wéen internet fweind totally isn't arguing in bad faith for epic trolling

Aw, let's not get pissy.

The current state of this thread:

I never said do nothing. I say keep doing what we're doing, building the barriers already chosen, and working with international counterparts for success. Certainly not putting up a wall and visiting Asian massage parlors.

You're about as complicated to me as a blocked toilet is to a fuckin' plumber.

You angry bro?

The wall only stops people "walking" or driving across the southern border. I do need to remind people that the American border does run through impassable terrain and a desert.

Holy shit, I almost missed this one. But that's the whole fucking point of the wall! And people do cross that desert, so there should definitely be one there as well. Good point.

So then just add a barrier to your list of deterrents, which by US budget standards is peanuts, so no harm, no foul, right. And thus can focus border patrol manpower in other border areas that are so desperately needed, such as your concerns of sea and air ports.. Also city and county officials do shitty jobs, such as Cali telling people they can get in trouble if they work with ICE.

I hope with your argument, you feel more enlightened as to why we need a wall. I would say it has been fun, but yeah...

Well, plans for a barrier are already under way. As for Cali hating ICE, I can't answer for that. Complex immigration needs a comprehensive plan, not just a barrier.
