Problem is unless you're either killing yourself in a public area where everyone can see it, or doing it for a generic woke cause like "trans rights" (see: Leelah Alcorn) nobody will pay attention to it, while mass shootings get wall to wall 24/7 media coverage for days. Hell even if you do that unless it's for a woke cause you'll be lucky if your suicide is even talked about much at all.

Every time there's a mass shooter there's always "multiple shooters" at first, then a day later they find out it was only one person. When you're running for your life you're not focused on that as your survival instinct kicks in.
