This has probably already been stated by others but it needs to be stated again.
To new kiwis, learn about obscuring your identity on the internet NOW.

I've said before that it was only a matter of time before companies will start cracking down on users/viewers of non-progressive websites and creators and not just the websites and creators themselves. If this event was not the catalyst, then it will sure kick it into overdrive, placing people onto lists for the content they seek and selling that information to eventually blacklist them from nearly anything and everything.

Many eyes are on the farms, 8chan, and 4chan right now and to think people would only go after the sites themselves but not the users as well is naive.

EDIT_1: Seriously, maybe because I've been drinking before I started reading this, I am a bit terrified.

EDIT_2: There should be a designated privacy/anonymous setup thread so kiwis can share how they maintain internet privacy and anonymity and educate others.

Viewing the video would make even a hardened Israeli soldier want to hug a Palestinian.
Considering Israel considers a suppressed .22lr rifle as "less lethal crowd control" Im sure there are more IDF members enjoying the video than making them feel empathy for the people they've been full apartheid on since the 40s

I pity Felix tbh, as unlike the Fiverr thing he's not complicit at all this time.

And my God, who tf would doubletap just to make sure....

EDIT: Seeding this for a few days, just because it's revolting doesn't mean other people shouldn't have the right to sate their curiosity.

I don't think in a Western country with full openness to the Internet can someone ever be blamed by "rhetoric" for what they did. 8chan and 4chan is 99% irony in my opinion and this guy is obviously old enough to know right from wrong. It's one thing to blame radicalization of young jihadis who live in cultures/societies where any outside information is either hard to come by or is condemned daily. It's another to take idiotic anonymous Internet posters seriously.
This. This guy made his decisions. He'd love to put everything down to some weird tribal collective thing that absolves individuals of any responsibility for their actions. His whole philosophy is based around it.

4chan won't let me post when I use TOR, what do I do? If I can't banepost in the dystopian cyber punk future I don't think I'll be able to make it.

Well there's a hot take from Senator Fraser Anning. Just in case you thought only the left side of the culture war would heat up over this.

I don't think many people realise how important of an incident this is. This is an organized, calculated attack that solely exists to create social discord. And people are falling for it. Already, several discords and other chat groups that I'm on have fallen apart today from the mods and members arguing over the politics of the incident. It's by far the biggest disaster in recent New Zealand history and I'd go so far as to say it'll be the most important political event since 9/11.

People have been talking about the neo-Nazis showing up for the past decade, but now they're really here.

It's not really surprising, the ISIS beheadings and recruitment being allowed online, the western policy towards immigrants, and them commiting crimes, the demonization of the "white cis-gendered man" in the media as all neo-nazis. They wanted it to be real bad enough, they created the perfect environment for it to happen. They wanted white ISIS, now they've got white ISIS.

Their riot control method with this is to shoot for the legs. This not only is specifically less lethal, but the screaming and yelling is also a very effective emotional deterrent, more than a dead rioter would be. The others either have to deal with the wounded in some way or with the distress of ignoring them.

I'm just at a complete loss for words. The fact that he nonchalantly murdered all these people in a peaceful neighborhood not out of radicalization, but to prove a point about the media just boggles my mind.
No he did it out of radicalization. He's just also an accellerationist that wants the media to do certain things because he thinks it will make the future he wants more likely.

A future that no one with empathy wants.
No sadly all too many people unironically want this kind of thing. The shooter seems to have been devoid of empathy (at least in the footage I've seen, the way he put that woman down was ice cold) but we can't pretend only freakish monsters believe this shit. Normal people have believed this in the past and will again in the future. There's a reason human history is littered with genocides. This kind of ideology is genuinely appealing to people in some fundamental way and pretending otherwise won't help stop it.
