The Zapruda film is distasteful. The footage of 9/11 is distasteful. The footage of the Vietnam war is distasteful. The images of the aftermath of the Paris bombings are distasteful. The images from the Jonestown mass suicide are distasteful.

For at least 50 years distasteful imagery has been beamed into our living rooms via television and/or greeted us on the front page of our newspapers. Why has it suddenly become unacceptable for people to be exposed to the harsh reality of newsworthy events? How many of those who support the censorship of both the documents and the imagery related to this event spent days glued to the television after 9/11? It's either all acceptable or none of it is.

Predators pay for access and possession of the CP, creating a demand which is satisfied by creating more CP by abusing more children. Someone who has CP has either contributed to that market himself or has ties to someone else who contributed (or created the content through his own abuse of children).

No one is paying for this video. There is no fiscal demand for more videos of mass murders that would create a sustainable market. That is what makes it a historical document, as opposed to a commodity.

At least, this is my understanding of the difference.
