I applaud your optimism and appreciate the sentiment, but it's impossible to win a war without criminalizing & dehumanizing the other side; especially against an aggressor with no such compunctions.

The will to fight is hardwired into our nature; groups shackling it with that absolute ideal are abberations amongst past & current human cultures. The vast majority have become either historical footnotes or are tiny minorities in tolerant countries; Amish, Quakers, & Mennonites are examples of absolute humanism still in practice.

We're human; there will always be someone who wants to take that which is not theirs and remove undesirables.

The only real upshot is that wars end fast when one side has an existential distaste for hating & killing other people; but good luck to those who depend on mercy for survival, if they survive that long.
