Besides the killings, what bothers me the most is that fact we don't know his real motive.

"Well duh! Read his manifesto. He says he wants to kill Muslims because he fears they will replace white people".

Yes, I did read his manifesto. And that's exactly why I doubt him. It isn't filled with sincerity like Elliot Rodger's manifesto. He is shitposting. It has the navy seal copypasta, and blames Fortnite and Spyro 3. Not to mention he name called Pewdiepie, It's obvious this guy wanted to piss off as many people as he could.

Maybe he is white nationalist as it seems. But, I think it's equally possible he doesn't really care about muslims and just wanted to cause the most suffering he could, even after the shooting was done. Throw stones to the beehive. Maybe he just wanted people to be scared, be confused and suffer for his enjoyment. Maybe he was just evil.

How can we tell?

There's plenty of sincerity in his manifesto. He writes a couple of times about the murder of Ebba Akerlund and about being overwhelmed by the number of war dead in a cemetery in France and feeling shame in the face of that sacrifice. He writes a lot about whites being replaced by non-whites in what are essentially European nations, and cites this as the primary reason for his attack.

There's no reason to see any of that as insincere. It paints a clear picture of his immediate, conscious motives.

No shit he was 'trained', he admits himself he trained for this for 2 solid years. And going into a narrow space to reload and shit is just common sense for anyone who isn't STUPID. This is actually something I have suspected as well. We know the left believe the ends justifies the means and all of his actions would cause the adverse reaction. (stricter gun control/etc.) It's something I considered could happen. The mention of Pewdiepie is one of the instances I get heavily suspicious because he's been a target for the left for a while and this guy (memeing or not) purposely brings him up is odd to say the least. Let alone referencing other right wing people which would bring them large amounts of scrutiny.

I noticed several blatant lies myself, like about Tarrant resisting arrest...he was clearly dragged UNCONSCIOUS from the vehicle and handcuffed while unconscious and dragged halfway down the street unconscious.
They claim a 5 year old girl was shot at Al Noor mosque (the one he livestreamed), but you can clearly see there's no children there, and children--especially females--don't pray at the same time at the men in the first place so there wouldn't have been children of ANY kind in there.
Apparently killing 50 people wasn't tragic enough for them, they needed to hype it up.

It's 100 to 1 in your special case every time. I think Ted Bundy was famous for trying to avoid the death penalty. Look at places like China where you get your hands chopped off for stealing or something like that. That crime is much lower there, than here in the US.... I wonder why? Because we don't get our hands or fingers chopped off.

I mean, most of Europe has significantly lower crime rates than the US and they don't even believe in life imprisonment. Most of the prisons over there allow gaming consoles and internet access. Follow the context of my post please. I was responding to someone saying it was suspicious that he 'appeared trained' and noted things he did that would indicate training, acting like it was proof of some conspiracy. Now you're arguing the same thing from the opposite angle. I don't care. My point is that him backing into hallways to reload isn't evidence of anything, that's just common sense.

I don't have the manifesto open in front of me right now, but in the part where he cites Owens as an influence, he says that the actions she calls for are too extreme even for him. The joke there is that this is a guy who was heading out to murder men, women, and children at a mosque, which isn't the kind of thing she calls for. Later, he rips into conservatives as being toothless and ineffectual, which makes it clear that a conservative like Owens couldn't have been an influence on him.

My guess is that he named Owens as an influence knowing that the lefties who already hate her would take his claim seriously and try to pin the blame on her, which some of them did. This would make them look like idiots and also make trouble for her, both outcomes he is presumably fine with.

They preform this "act" for the very simple fact those who still trust them use baseline projection, they come to their conclusions based on indoctrination thus they believe everyone must be as clueless and "inspired" by others like themselves. He'll almost certainly be deported back here when he's served his sentence. People got so pissed off that no Australian laws existed to punish David Hicks when he was finally released from Gitmo that our laws were changed to cover terrorist acts committed by Australians overseas. I would have to look up whether they could be applied to Tarrant, but would not be surprised if they can.
