It'd be extraordinarily gay and stupid to try nailing someone for simply hitting an IP address. kiwifarms is HTTPs, which means that everything you're viewing or downloading here is encrypted between kiwifarms and your machine. No-one else, not even your router, gets a look in (provided Kiwifarms isn't using Cloudflare to fuck up that most basic secure channel).

But if I redirected kiwifarms.com to nzfaggotserver.com? Then I could get the IP of everyone in NZ trying to load kiwifarms.com/illegalmovie.avi -- because it would hit nzfaggotserver.com/illegalmovie.avi instead.

Yeah, that doesn't prove anything... but if someone tried to load that URI, they PROBABLY got the file eventually. So... hey look, a target for a fishing expedition.

Website Kiwi Farms refuses to surrender data linked to accused Christchurch terrorist Brendan Tarrant
Marnie O’Neill, news.com.au
The American operator of a controversial website has smacked down a request by New Zealand police to hand over posts and video links that appeared on the site as the Christchurch terrorist attack unfolded.
In an obscenity-laden email, Kiwi Farms founder Joshua Moon dismissed the plea by Detective Senior Sergeant John Michael as “a joke”, labelling New Zealand “a small, irrelevant island nation” and “s***hole country”.
Moon is a former administrator of 8chan, the online message board where Brenton Tarrant posted details of his sick plan, along with a 73-page manifesto, hours before allegedly carrying out New Zealand’s deadliest terrorist attack.
Kiwi Farms, 8chan and a third online message board called Voat are all under investigation by authorities tracking Tarrant’s online activities. They are popular with incels (involuntary celibates), an online subculture of men who claim they are unable to find sexual or romantic partners.

Australian national Tarrant, 28, is in custody on murder charges after the massacre of 50 worshippers at two Christchurch mosques, which left 50 dead and dozens more wounded.
Moon — an alt-right, anti-feminist, pro-white Trump supporter who claims he set up Kiwi Farms for the “gossip and exploitation of the mentally handicapped for amusement purposes” — published the exchange with Detective Michael without bothering to hide the officer’s email address.
“I am hoping that you can help us with an investigation the New Zealand Police are working on,” Det Michael wrote in an email dated March 17.
“On 15 March 2019 there was a shooting in New Zealand with multiple fatalities at two mosques in the city of Christchurch. The alleged offender in this matter is a Brenton TARRANT.
“At around the time of the shooting there were a number of posts and links posted on kiwifarms.net relating to the shooting and TARRANT.

“We would like to preserve any posts and technical data including IP addresses, email addresses etc linked to these posts pending a formal legal request.”

New Zealand Police confirmed the email exchange between Detective Michael and Kiwi Farms operator Joshua Moon was genuine. Picture: Kiwi Farms
Moon shot back: “Is this a joke? I’m not turning over information about my users.
“The person responsible for posting the video and manifesto PDF is myself.”
He continued: “I feel real bad for you guys, you’ve got a quiet nation and now this attack is going to be the first thing people think of for the next 10 years when they hear the name New Zealand, but you can’t do this.
“Tell your superiors they’re going to make the entire country and its government look like clowns by trying to censor the internet.
“You’re a small irrelevant island nation barely more recognizable than any other nameless pacific sovereignty. You do not have the clout to eradicate a video from the internet and you do not have the legal reach to imprison everyone who posted it.
“If anyone turns over to you the information they’re asking for they’re not only cowards but they’re f***ing idiots.”

Moon followed up with another email abusing New Zealand authorities for their efforts to remove footage of the rampage, which was lifestreamed by Tarrant and has been circulating online ever since.
Facebook says it has removed more than 1.5 million videos from the social media platform but uncensored footage continues to be reskinned and shared on Kiwi Farms, 8chan and another message board called Voat.
That’s despite a warning from New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern that anyone caught downloading or distributing such material — especially the killer’s 17 minute bodycam footage — faces up to 10 years jail.
“I don’t give a single solitary f**k what section 50 of your faggot laws say about sharing your email,” Moon ranted in the second email.
“Fk you and fk your s***hole country, Kiwi Farms has nothing to do with New Zealand. “Our name is a pointed jab at some of the mushmouthed autistic people we make fun of. Absolutely nothing about our community is NZ oriented.

To his credit, Det Michael refused to bite, replying instead with a polite acknowledgment of Moon’s views.
“Hi Josh,” he wrote. “Appreciate your quick response. Will definitely consider what you have said. Regards, John.”
New Zealand police verified the authenticity of the email exchange in a statement to news.com.au.
“I can confirm New Zealand Police made contact with the website as part of the ongoing investigation into the Christchurch terror attacks,” a spokeswoman said.
Before he founded Kiwi Farms, Moon was sacked as an administrator for 8chan for allegedly promoting paedophilia. He is notorious for his online stalking and harassment campaigns, which have featured threats to “rape, murder and dismember” his mainly female victims.
In 2016, Moon was linked to a series of online threats to harm children in Florida, where he shares a home with his mother, forcing dozens of schools into lockdown.

Amazing how they still give a shit about Milo.

Yeah, that doesn't prove anything... but if someone tried to load that URI, they PROBABLY got the file eventually. So... hey look, a target for a fishing expedition.
Right. It's a good first filter, then they can try to get some real evidence. But I wouldn't worry to much at that point. If you're going to obtain the video, I'd advise you to take plenty of precautions to do so anonymously. Don't blindly torrent. If you use the torrent, you're not just downloading. You're distributing.

Saved the Daily Dot bit.

And now for what I was originally about to post, made after I finally caught up with this thread.

=====================================================================================

Kyrios Iesous Christos.

After reading this thread from start to finish, I can sincerely thank the staff for saving it from being a complete and total dumpster fire, from banishment to the Spergatory as possibly among the lowest-quality threads on this entire site.

Over 120 pages, over half of which are sheer, undiluted, back-to-back autism, maximalized via the mental defecations and emeses of bloviating spergs, speds, and sperds.

And now it's time to throw my two cents in as well, which will probably (but not likely) be updated as time goes on.

Having watched the video, I could see that:

  1. The man recording it was a really good shot, all things considered.
  2. It was clear that he had planned this, seeing how much preparations he had done for it.
  3. Notably, he started shooting at random targets once he went through his killing spree (at least the parts that were recorded).

Having read his manifesto, titled The Great Replacement, I can confidently state several things:

  1. Its writer, Brenton Harrison Tarrant, is pretentious as all get-out.
  2. The writer is most worried that low birthrates of white people in Western society, combined with an influx of high-fertility rate non-white immigrants coming into Western nations, will ultimately lead to a White Genocide.
  3. It was written purely to bait the mainstream media, opportunistic hacks, and unintelligent, easily led ideologues into reacting the exact way the terrorist wanted them to, by calling for (more) censorship of all non-leftist speech, ideas, and opinions.
  4. The writer doesn't care much for proper grammer.
  5. If I didn't know this was connected with the video of the shooter's rampage, I would have thought it was an elaborate joke.
  6. Related to (3), the shooter has a clear accelerationist mindset to things; he's not doing this because he's dumb or he (just) wants attention, but to actively worsen the political divides in Western society, ultimately leading to a civil/race war.
  7. The manifesto's reference to things such as Spyro 3, Candace Owens, and Fortnite, in addition with the shooter's "subscribe to PewDiePie" bit in the video, are all ironic in nature, made purely to stir up as much drama as possible and seed discord.

Now, the terrorist/shooter Brenton Tarrant was immoral, a really bad person, and some of the apologetics that have been made for him in this thread have simply been unethical.

No matter what you feel about Islam, Muslims, mass immigration, and the notion of replacement migrantion, the facts of the matter are such:

1. There is no evidence (or at least none presented) that any of the Muslims that were within that mosque during that time have done anything particularly wrong to anyone in particular, certainly not anything to warrant such a attack. So this terrorist attack by the shooter cannot be in retaliation for anything done by Islamists.
*And no, a few radicalized youths does not mean the entire mosque was filled to the brim with radicals or worked to actively radicalize people. That is a hasty generalization. And even then, it doesn't justify what the shooter did.
  1. There is no evidence (or at least none presented) of an influx of Muslims into New Zealand, certainly not enough to warrant beliefs of a replacement of whites or Christians on cultural or ethnic grounds. So this terrorist attack by the shooter cannot be in response to a White Genocide, as far as New Zealand itself can be concerned.
  2. There is no evidence (or at least none presented) that any of the Muslims came into New Zealand via "improper" (i.e. illegal channels), or through some mass immigration policy like open borders, and that is assuming that they weren't born there in the first place. So this terrorist attack by the shooter cannot be in response to a Muslim "invasion", as far as New Zealand itself can be concerned.

As the shooter himself asserted in his manifesto, what he did was mainly a symbolic act done to sow division in the West and, in the process, somehow secure a future for white people. This attack has no more moral or ethical backing behind it than that.

The worst thing about this is despite the shooter literally putting to writing that he wanted chaos and division, the mainstream media and #Woke Twitter are still willingly taking the bait for political brownie points, furthering the shooter's goals.

Keep in mind that I'm no fan of either Islam or mass immigration, and I believe that Islam is generally not compatible with Western culture. Nor do I think that all cultures are necessarily compatible with each other to begin with. But these are the facts, and none of them put the shooter in a good light.

And also, something everyone seems to forget here is that race and/or ethnicity is not even vaguely necessarily the same as culture. Just because someone is black doesn't necesarily mean that they support, say, Black Lives Matter, for example. To assume that someone necessarily thinks or acts a certain way because of inherited traits they were born with and could never have chosen is simply bigotry.

There is no evidence that the shooting was a false flag. To continue to claim that it is without evidence is irresponsible.

On a personal note, I also cannot help but notice the lack of self-awareness of the people who howl about replacement of white people in Western nations while often living on historically colonized or conquered land. These people, of course, often advocate for universal racial separation. The ethnicity of an immigrant people is not what's important, but if their culture is good and compatible with their host's culture. I would rather have a country filled to bursting with all shades of brown people that respect the Constitution and Bill of Rights than an ethnically homogenous dictatorship.

This atrocity will not significantly affect the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. However, social media companies will use this tragedy as an excuse to further circumvent the First Amendment and clamp down on "dangerous hate speech" and "radicalization" even harder than before, and probably for years to come.

And whatever the effects that mass immigration and Islam have on culture, and whatever diologues we need to have about them, and whether or not such discussions are being stifled, it does not absolve the shooter, or any copycats thereof, of any responsibility. Nor does the increasingly looming presence of Islam on Western society, with all its hiccups in tow, or the outpouring of anti-white rhetoric on Western culture, suddenly make violent responses, such as the shooter's actions, foreordained and unavoidable. There are better ways to solve either problem than mass murder.
As an aside, I find that what any specific rating is given from any specific member to any given post is rather telling in what any given member actually believes or not, and really help in identifying the (biggest) spergs.

And I swear to god that least some of the most recently mad accounts are from journalists and ResetEra membera saying edgy shit in order to take screenshots to "prove" how bad Kiwi Farms is, as well as /pol/tards trolling with weak bait (which still worked due to the generally spastic nature of this thread before the mods did chemotherapy).

10-14 years is ludicrous for this. The worst part is, and I don't know NZ's laws very well, but I feel this is highly overreaching the boundary of their power. Unfortunately, I know too little to do anything but ask(possibly obvious)questions. Is this a new law? Is this even a law, in fact, or just a declaration that New Zealand's government is willing to enforce? Is it something they came up with on the spot, or is it something that's existed in some form unrelated to this incident for some time now?
He's being charged with violating New Zealand's law against "objectionable materials", which not only bans child porn but also anything else that they find problematic. They literally have a "Censorship Team" that monitors the internet for "objectionable materials".

archive.today doesn't like the site, so here's a screenshot.

And there's the text of the law which defines what "objectionable" means.

Honest question: If I am seeding the video, does that make me a wanted man in New Zealand? And if it does, is there a statue of limitations or am I basically fucked off from visiting another Commonwealth country ever?
It probably depends on whether your US-based ISP will actually stand up for your rights, or just hand over the identities of any users whose IPs appeared in the swarm.
I dont want 4chan to radicalise my kid into watersports.
You joke, but... the "objectionable material" law (archive link above) specifically mentions:

The Britbongs need to have a discussion about the evil troll that is 4chan... Time for them to find another thing to ban or licence. They are literally talking about teaching people how to behave properly on the internet. If only they pursued grooming gangs this hard.

Does New Zealand government really think they can purge this video off the internet? Or does it have to do with evidence? They're trying to cut a head off a hydra if they want it completely gone. The dude is getting exactly what he wanted acceleration.

"The man who troll'd the world."

It's less about purging a video and more about using the video as an excuse to censure information and prosecute people they deem right wing. Australia and U.K. are following along now as are the West Coast media companies.

Amazing how they still give a shit about Milo.

The best part is that they write:
New Zealand police verified the authenticity of the email exchange in a statement to news.com.au.

They got the screencap of the exchange from the kiwifarm. What are they? Some far alt-right white supremacists that they would get information from your website? The journalists probably got the video from kiwifarms as well. Maybe @Null should pass the police the e-mail and ip of the journalists, they might be dangerous incels! :story:

Is it illegal to own to own violent videos like the ChristChurch shooting? I assume they are using this the same way they use ISIS videos. Track down the people who download it, keep an eye on them, if they start sharing it and what not then put them on a list, and if they start doing crazy shit like buying a bunch of ammo or fertilizer then you black van them.

I find it pretty ironic that you call out Brenton Tarrant on his pretensiousness and in the same breath post something this fart-sniffy:

Again one thing I always despise besides the obvious hypocrisy of britbongs is the way the treat it. Shit like 4chan, while /pol/ may be a big board, is not a single entity of "evil misogynistic far right incels" it's an actual diverse community of a lot of people, me going to /co/ to talk about Gravity falls or people shitposting about kh3 on /v/ and ranting about pokemon on /vp/ and much more has nothing to do with what /pol/ does and I'm so fucking sick of seeing these out of touch old retards attempting to censor one of the few places where some sort of free speech exist, god I swear letting normies on the internet was a mistake... But yeah just blame things we doesn't understand, that worked in the pat a lot, remember when video games caused violence and how Marilyn Manson singing was somehow the cause of some students shooting up a School? yeah right

"reinforcing their prejudices, speaking to thousands, and more" HM SOUNDS AN AWFUL LOT LIKE TWITTER AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIAS, especially the trannysphere and more ;))))
Also the way they mentioned "google and facebook visiting primary and schools to teach about internet" Holy fuck the level of totalitarianism and indoctrination is freaking scary, just...fuck boomers honestly. They ruin EVERYTHING.

Remember when columbine happened?

/pol/ is the most used board since normies got to grips with it around 2016, but /v/ is just as large. I stopped going to /pol/ since 2016, it's just a shitheap, the other boards are much better. These fucking boomers who are so out of touch and incompetent want to censor and make people behave a certain way when they go online. They want to control how people behave... absolutely vile in its implications.

It depends directly where you live. Most places (again depending on the current precedent of law): It should be legal. Well, unless you're in NZ and the like.
