It often has to be seen to be believed. And even then, some people will still deny it's happening or say it's a-okay because TRAs know what's best for us all.

One thing I don't get is, why do they think a five-year-old girl who feels like a boy would be interested in having a pronounced bulge? Isn't it something that most boys and men would consider embarrassing to have in public, unless they were deliberately trying to flaunt their apparatus? Even more so when it comes to these semi-erect plastic penises. Why would a little kid want that?

That's a good point and I've never thought about that, MtF is so often the focus that the craziness of MtF parents falls to the wayside. This thing with packers is... We are all aware of when dudes try to be a woman, working off their idea of what makes a woman, right? This seems like mom is trying to boy, the penis and bulge obsession seems to be squarely moms own ideation and based on what mom thinks is appropriate for a boy. So the girl is sent to school/daycare with a tiny peener poking at the pants but what about later in life? If mom is so obsessed about things being "authentic" I have to wonder if when the age of puberty comes around she sends her kid to school with a bigger and "erect" packer, because teen boys and boners in class, right?

The same question could be posed of adult FTM, it's one of those things I really can't wrap my head around of all the trans stuff. I have many male friends and work in a male dominated field and it's not very common to be able to see the bulge of my male friends or co-workers, in some instances it'd be incredibly awkward / inappropriate for it to be so visible. At least with MTF faux breasts are something that makes sense to try to emulate/be visible because most women have visible breasts, but penis bulge? like you can look around and know it's not normal for a male to have incredibly obvious dick in most circumstances. There's no way young kids should be havin' that.

I'll call bullshit on any troon who claims that they have dysphoria about their bottom that can only be assuaged by having an fake, obvious, dick bulge in their pants or even just believing they need a packer that isn't visible. What purpose does it serve? cause there's no way I'll believe you're not going to be aware of the obvious hunk of plastic you've got stuck in your pants. I'll never be convinced a mind already riddled with dysphoria is going to accept some almost-a-dildo strapped on down there and be content with that.

If her parents are serious about their kid's performative masculinity and their classmates treating them like one of the guys their age, they are signing their kid up to be the butt of comments and kidding. If she's been otherwise raised with "woke" expectations and over-reactions to the slightest hint of aggression, the locker-room humor is likely to escalate to bullying the sissy. That trope about the courageous, enlightened Popular Girl who sticks up for the picked-on kid? If you want to see any of that action, go to the movies.

Transmom may remember with fondness all the cute guys sporting a nice package, and all the times she laughed with her friends after class about the dweeb who had to walk back to his seat with a boner. For many of the guys involved, it was usually an embarrassment, making "ways to hide an erection or get it to back down some" a priority surpassing "how do I talk to a girl?" What she didn't see or hear about was that schoolboys will notice the odd one out who always has a stiffy on the way to the male locker room, hogs a stall to pee, always seems to be checking out the other guys dressing out for P.E., etc.... and they won't be noticing those behaviors with admiration for Transmom's courage.

There's some packers that double as stand-to-pee devices, so folks who want that have that. Other than that is all for identity, since you have to adjust your walking and sitting with it.
(Even though you can just get a pair of socks, pin them in your undies, and get a similar effect.)

Jesus, eight years old is considered young enough to medicate girls who are starting puberty? My body starting changing around that time and I'm a completely normal-sized, healthy adult. I cried about it and tried to punch my chest until it was flat again on the first day, but I eventually accepted it and now I don't have Lupron-induced osteoporosis.

Having one's body change drastically, especially when those changes have such cultural significance and forever change the way people see you, can be really upsetting. Fortunately, we all go through puberty at one point or another, so we all can band together and support children who are experiencing it for the first time, no matter their reactions. ...Or we could give those kids drugs to prevent them from fully growing and later give them more drugs to cause them to develop secondary sex characteristics typical of the opposite sex, I guess.
