Guess what I'm saying here is that the conventions deserve the benefit of the doubt, and shouldn't be met with same ire we're holding for Sabat.

Nobody here should hold any sympathy for any of the idiots highlighted in the main cast. Even if in the end they did turn out to be dancing to the pide piper of Sabat. Everyone made their choice. Allison Cooke made the choice to believe her fellow Fujoshies and add her voice to the whisper network. Kaylyn Saucedo made her choice to to decide to signal boost Allisons tweet, Sabats flunkies decided to obey his urging and #metoo Vic, and the Conventions decided to go along with it even in the face of massive fan blowback.

The only victim here is Vic. Everyone else is a culpable accessory to the willful destruction of an innocent man. The conventions can make restitution. So can his fellow voice actors, but there can be no true absolution for any of them. Either they followed the mob or they took orders from an opportunistic douche bag. They all had a choice to not follow the herd, and when the choice was presented to them they refused and instead chose to be lesser moral agents. For that they deserve the fate that is rapidly coming for them all.

See, this is what's called a tragedy in common parlance, you're given every chance to do the right thing, to back the fuck off, and every single time, you fuck up.

I dunno, I feel like Igor is Schemmel. He seems like someone who's pretty easy to whip up into a frenzy if you know how to play himself against himself, plus as Ty said they all fucking hate each other and so far the only thing that keeps them together is their mutual hatred of genuine people. I think the reason they hate their fans is that because on some subconscious level they realize they don't deserve this adulation, that they're horrible disgusting monsters and there's nothing they're doing to fix it.

Of course knowing the average fan of anime, maybe Occam's Razor is better suited: that those fans are like shrieking koalas with that horrid stench koalas are known to have. Vic is a goddamned Saint for loving them.
