Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, one of the endings of getting rid of the kid (Krypto) involves Lexy, who had just gotten back from going to a tech convention (while wearing a special collar that turns her into rubber, how fun), getting super mad at this child for making Cerise cry, and then putting a red plastic button on them that has the word "NAUGHTY" on it. Krypto leaves almost immediately, and then Lexy reveals that the button was a cursed/enchanted artifact that makes the wearer afraid of the color pink. She also painted the back of the object pink, so if Krypto ever tries to remove it, or get someone else to remove it, they'll be too afraid to see the pink spot to actually have it removed. Cerise seems at least slightly concerned (all she says is "Lexy..."), but Lexy says "What? If they're as smart as they seem to think, I'm sure they'll figure something out."

My interpretation of this is her self-insert basically traumatizes a child because she sees it as the only way to make them go away. I'd provide screenshots, but that'd mean having to play the game again.

That's also worryingly close to humiliation fetish content, especially since "naughty" has a sexual connotation. Because of the character involved I don't think that just came off wrong.

I don't know the legality of allowing children to see/purchase sex objects (I would assume it would be VERY ILLEGAL for an adult to make that sale) but if you go into a sex shop there will be pornography of some sort, and at the very least willfully exposing minors to pornograhy, seen or heard, is CSA. Not to mention that people are just openly having sex here. They're so obsessed with finding workarounds for why kids are totally allowed to look at porn and be involved with sex. I feel gross.

Legally, in most countries, minors are not allowed to even enter sex shops. Anybody who even looks underage gets carded at the door, and Cerise is standing way over in the back. It would make sense for her not to be carding everyone at the door if they already have a magical barrier in place to keep minors out, however Krypto's picture is right on the freaking wall and Cerise should have called security immediately instead of being polite.

Spoiler: Why Cerise acts the way she does

The reason she doesn't immediately kick Krypto out is because her priorities are people's feelings, not laws or morals. She's the submissive and permissive type and lets her customers do whatever they want so she gets more money and builds better relationships with returning customers, so that's why she's so polite and nice. "I better be extra nice, because that's more important than the possibility of a minor walking around a sex shop" and "I hope they don't cause any trouble because I wouldn't want my customers to be upset. A minor being unsafe isn't my responsibility." Also, somebody who is emotionally delicate like Cerise is not going to be able to stand up and say no to somebody, even if they have more power. Running a sex shop that has legal barriers and being unable to enforce that is just negligence at that point. If it weren't for Lexy telling Krypto off, the kid would have never left because Cerise is apparently too nice to call the police.

I really hate how none of the characters can act like actual adults, they're all just emotionally stunted in one way or another. It's basically just a bunch of adult children in a sex shop.

I want to take a chance and guess that the only reason Alex went with this LOVE engine is because it's coded in LUA probably, and he doesn't want to pay for an actual game engine.
EDIT: feeling stupid forgetting that WinRAR can easily extract files from EXE, I extract the game's EXE and learned that yes, it IS in fact, coded exclusively in LUA. with only 4 files coded in what looks like Javascript.
-What is unsurprising is that all of the AI is all in a "cerise" folder.

The game is probably the worst they've made yet. I understand there's multiple routes but on the one I ended up getting, just playing the game normally and getting a few in-optimal dialogue choices, it felt like the kid was way too much of the content.

Yeah, this is the ending I got too. Even if there's apparently nicer endings, if your game has three endings where a disobedient kid is given a stern, but kind talking to and one where they're waterboarded and all are portrayed as fine, that's horrifying.

If it weren't for Lexy telling Krypto off, the kid would have never left because Cerise is apparently too nice to call the police.

Can we also talk about how Eevee thinks this is a completely appropriate way to talk to a kid? There's no good excuse for talking to a child like that, it just reeks of unnecessary disrespect towards someone who clearly doesn't know any better. It goes to show Eevee really thinks minors are on her intellectual reasoning level... which never was adult enough to begin with. Explains why she looked at this scene and thought, "Yeah that'll show children not to mess with me!"

Edit 2 Electric Boogaloo: In the end Eevee defeats the kid with LOGIC and FACTS (and a lecture on all the ways minors can bypass restrictions placed by adults) and oh my fucking god the kid breaking into adult-only spaces is the major plot line of the entire game. They literally made a porn game to bitch about how mean and terrible minors are to adults in adult-only spaces. I'm genuinely shocked Papaya didn't come flying in at the final confrontation to call the kid Spaggleshit.

This is honestly hilarious, at this rate it's just over exposition on how much they're not into kids getting into spaces the shouldn't be, quick hint, if you have to over explain yourself you're probably not being sincere to start with.

ignoring how hilarious they made a game where part of the entire plot (I'm assuming it's part and not the whole thing, I'm not really interested in playing the game) is based on a minor tormenting poor adults by making up stories about them and 'infiltrating' adult spaces.

Eevee has historically been very involved with the concept of minors getting into adult spaces- like didn't they cause issues as moderation at furaffinity because of it- being upset about minors being blocked out of seeing adult content? I don't know if I'm remembering wrong but I remember that being a thing.

they (by which I mean Eevee AND Glip) keep focusing on this a lot. I know they'll come down to 'it's because we were FALSELY ACCUSED' but the whole thing with Eevee and furaffinity happened before Spaggle/Lain. it's been a continual focus/obsession.

but no they totally have no personal sorta interest in that kind of thing, right? there's nothing weird about certain subjects and themes coming up over and over.

I played the whole thing and it just so clear to me that they can't possibly understand why is not okay for a minor to be exposed to such things besides social repercutions such as reputation.

It's really hard for me to properly express how I feel about the whole "kid trying to get into a sex shop" thing Eevee very poorly wrote. I was never the bold one to try and explore naughty shops as a teen or kid but I've had a few friends who have tried. But based on what friends have told me, if you appear to be under age, the people working the shop will not let you in or view the sex section. If you claimed to be of age, they would still not allow you in unless you can provide legit proof of being legal age. There's no way a sex shop worker would act like Cerise did either. They would not think "Oh I should be nice to this person because they look young and I don't know their age and I don't want to assume". Be hard on the little shit for continually attempting to come in and even threaten you.

the reality of interacting with children is that because they cannot make good decisions on their own all of the time, you sometimes MUST hurt their feelings to keep them safe. For example, telling them that they may not stay out as late as they want. You MUST disappoint them sometimes. Like telling them they aren't tall enough to go on a ride at the fair because it isn't safe. Cirese's atitude is really really bad. You MUST sometimes ruin their day by doing something like grounding them.

yeah i've ID'd people for events a few times in my life and kids usually run off. I do think online kids are a bit more bold because they aren't afraid of cops being called (or worse, parents being called) but they are also easier to deal with because you can ban them with a few clicks
