Sonny has backed off when Twitter really turned against kickvic, recently re-followed Vic, and has been noticed liking some pro-Vic posts and stuff like that. My guess is that he is someone being strong-armed by Sabat or Iago but doesn't want to light his public image on fire either.
I don't mind if they include political jargon if it's appropriate for the localization. If they're making some topical social/political joke in Japanese, localizing it so that people understand what the intent of the original line was makes sense. Sticking references and jargon in where it doesn't belong just dates it though, like the Video Girl Ai dub.
Crispin Freeman had it right when he said at some con or another that localization is a tricky balance of keeping the flavor and experience of the original while making sure casual viewers who don't speak Japanese or live the weeb life still understand what is being said.
Roddenberry had a great idea and then was unfortunately allowed to continue sticking his ideas into the show from there. Wesley is entirely his fault, and he got aggressive and territorial with fans who disliked Wesley. I think he said at some point that Wesley was "like my SON". And the Federation absolutely wasn't allowed to be flawed unless it was one or two lone people. I recall hearing about how the rest of the writers and producers were constantly wrestling with Roddenberry over TNG because if he'd had his way the crew wouldn't have ANY internal conflict whatsoever, only the aliens, because humanity had ascended beyond the point where they'd have any of those flaws. I recall hearing from someone that TNG sharply increased in quality some time after Gene got too sick to be involved or died, but I've never gone and confirmed that bit.
Going briefly on a tangent that's likely to be somewhat unpopular, but the way Gene insisted Starfleet and the Federation be as lily white as possible is part of what elevates DS9 above it in my own personal view. Letting them be flawed and wrong and do bad things even if they thought it was for a good cause made for a much richer show.
He streams personally on twitch after every episode or movie where he spends an hour or more breaking down the whole thing, giving his director's commentary, showing the effects and how they work, and usually includes stuff like alternate takes that never make it into the proper alternate take videos (in one stream he voiced Trunks saying the original 'Father! You're going to destroy the planet!' line, and in another, Taka was sick and hadn't done Cell's voice lines yet so he showed a version of Ultimate Trunks vs Perfect Cell - specifically "you can't fathom the number of dead men behind me' section - wherein he gave his own Perfect Cell impression).
Technically I think you're supposed to be a patron to access them, but if you follow him or get someone to tip you off and don't say anything while he's streaming I don't see why you couldn't catch them anyway. Twitch doesn't have an invite-only stream option.
As far as I know most trans people don't care about the term, either separating it from reality if they're into anime or using it for themselves if they're not. It's the people who spend all their lives getting offended on behalf of other people that throw a fit about the word. At least that I've seen.
He really should have gone with 'I downloaded it accidentally as a part of (some other pirated thing which is much less of a crime) and it continued seeding because I'm too stupid to stop seeding something'. At least it's more plausible than "I bought a used HDD, it came with a seedy P2P service which already had downloaded files and thought 'how convenient! I guess I'll use this p2p program and never look at what it's seeding with my bandwidth!"
Just avoid Funimation VAs. TFS are basically Funimation VAs at this point, so they count. There's a little bit of splash over with the really prolific VAs that work in and out of Funimation like Steve Blum, but I've seen very little of anything coming from strictly Viz/Sentai/Aniplex/whatever VAs. If this is someone with influence specifically over Funimation strong-arming VAs, it stands to reason people who don't care about working with Funimation aren't really going to get involved.
So what they're saying is that they've got a whole lot more than $75k a year to garnish or otherwise seize in a lawsuit if they lose? Seems unwise to brag about all the money you've got when there's an angry lawfirm in Texas looking your way.

I think we can all pretty much figure that Sarah is not happy Vic keeps his GFM, while she can't have one for her pedo brother.

Sounds like GFM came to the natural conclusion Sarah's brother is full of crap and they didn't want the heat for helping raise funds for a slam dunk case against a pedophile trying to weasel out of his rightful punishment.
Vic and Adams have far sturdier cases in their defense and thus GFM is not half as embarrassed to let them raise legal fees on their service.
Note: In the case of Adams, I wouldn't have blamed him if he had beat that pederast piece of shit to death, I'd still toss him money so he could walk, killing scum is a laudable act.

I'm surprised that credit card companies didn't just outright refuse to process the payments on this GFM -- they've made it clear from the crossover with Sargon's deplatforming from Patreon that the banks can and have made an argument to take a political stance to defund the ideological opposition on a global scale, and will pressure anyone they can through PayPal and Stripe to do so.

except it won't work. credit unions are rising and with how america is set up, there's literally fuck all any bank, even the world bank or whatever the fuck that is, can do to stop it (america can and will call their bluff if it happens, halt all exports, and cripple the world economy more or less overnight... while funnily enough holding some of their assets hostage).
so all someone would need to do is set something up with a credit union and boom. banks lose more power and are forced to either rollback or risk losing business.
sure i suppose they could try to lobby, but with how established credit unions are, they will be about as effective as a single impotent moth that just got into a clothing store 3 hours before opening.
